When it happens, it will happen quickly.
The average person is being bombarded today with information at such a rapid pace, and that by design, that it is almost impossible to keep them within the context of the subject matter at hand.
We are, for all intents and purposes to them, a broken record, for our words center around a singular subject and a singular person. The Word of God and the Lord Jesus Christ are the only two topics we find that are of any value, both temporal and eternal.
“Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ:” (Phil. 1:27a)
I have been contemplating the following verse lately, especially in regard to these days of excessive information, specifically where most seem to get their information from, the internet.
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (Daniel 12:4)
The traveling part of that verse is quite easily understood, but it is that word “knowledge” that I am considering.
I will ask you a question here, all of the social media sites you visit, all of the items you peruse through on the internet, do you believe they have increased your knowledge, and if so, in what manner?
Are you growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord because of your time spent there, has it emboldened your desire to speak of the Lord Jesus Christ, are you being encouraged, strengthened, is your faith, your trust in Him growing because of what you spend your time looking at online?
I do not mean to be rude here, but I am going to presume that very little of your time is spent in those endeavors. Oh, you may say that because of all the evil that is readily seen, it is causing you to be more desirous of being in His presence, but has any of what you let your eyes see and your mind receive actually been knowledge, or just information?
My beautiful wife would tell you that over the last three of four years, specifically when these letters began, that I have become a much more frustrated individual, but I am not sure that she could tell you exactly why. I can.
Wisdom, Spiritual discernment, a heart being taught how to discern between good and evil, the answered prayers, fervent prayers, for His truths to be revealed to me. Because of the truth of Ecclesiastes 1:18.
“For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.”
When it happens, it will happen quickly, and my friends, three or four years is extremely quick considering the amount of sunsets I have witnessed.
That knowledge the verse speaks of I do not believe is the useless information being broadcast across the planet, the so-called important events that are being replaced every day, if not every hour.
I believe there are many such as myself to whom knowledge is being imparted that is of the Almighty and for His glory, knowledge that is being revealed to us that also reveals how useless, how trivial all the knowledge of this world is. This knowledge will not lead to any national or otherwise large-scale revivals, as they are called, but neither is it to be kept to ourselves, hence this pen and paper.
“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2nd Cor. 2:11)
The traps become more visible, the frustrations grow in intensity, the grief and sorrow rarely abate, and we welcome every moment of them.
“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:” (2nd Tim. 2:12)
You may think all those items you view online are important, you may even believe they are necessary, but they are not, they are nothing less than a way to keep the brute beasts, the herd from wandering too close to the cross.
The world and the myriad of false prophets are capturing minds that are to be held captive for Christ.
Recognize this trap.
