“As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” (Romans 8:36)
The fear of the Lord is reverential trust and a hatred of evil. Subtlety is deception, usually brought by a smiling face, it is a form of coercion, an attempt to sway one from known truths, and if there is one thing that our adversary detests, perhaps even in some manner fears, it is truth.
Misinformation is what those who follow him have determined to be the greatest threat today, and they will act accordingly to dissuade in any way possible those who would attempt to bring truth into the darkness. And so, I must ask this question of you, and ask also that you would be able to see the truth of it in your life.
How are you hating evil?
God looks on the heart, is this righteous anger within you? Does He see a great thirst for righteousness, a hunger for truth to be revealed? Or are you hoping someone else will stand up?
“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16)
Hatred in your heart against unrighteousness, against evil does no one any good, an action must be performed, or you may find that you are lying to yourself.
There are tens of thousands of examples that can be offered here, but I will give you only one.
Recently I learned that hundreds of churches in Canada have been burned in just the last few years, and the authorities there have determined to attempt to pass a law that if anyone even mentions these events, they will be placed in prison.
How does that make you feel? Is there righteous anger welling up in you? Do you hate the evil that is allowing this to happen?
Then what are you going to do about it?
That is the point of this short letter to you today, not the atrocities in Canada, the thousands in Africa that are being killed and displaced because they serve the Risen Savior, North Korea, China, name any place on this planet today, look down your own street and you will find a reason to hate evil.
So, what’s the plan? Prayer? Marching in the street with signs? Going to the highest authority you know and voicing your displeasure?
“Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.” (1st Peter 3:9)
Are there born-again believers who are warriors for Christ, and if so, what actions do they take?
If we are to bear each other’s burdens, and we are, how are we to respond to those who are bringing evil into the lives of those who are our brothers and sisters in Christ?
Where and when you will stand may need to be tested, and in that test you will find that you are either willing to stand no matter the consequences to yourself, or you will be shown that you have only been professing Him with your lips.
And my friends, it is just getting started.
Our cause is Christ, not just the One who had compassion on the masses, but the One who hated evil enough to take the time to make a whip before He went into the Temple.
We cannot stop what is approaching, but we are expected to stand against it, against the evil of these days that He has seen fit to place us in.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Rev. 12:11)
Are you an example for those who will be left behind, have you been taught by the examples of those who came before us?
The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God, those are the words we are to use to stand against the darkness of these days. If the fear of the Lord is within you, then you hate evil.
The question is, how are you proving that?
