“If you do not obey, I will take away everything you possess.”
Then I will live on the street.
“I will remove the lives of all those that you hold dear.”
Then I will see them in heaven.
“I will end your life.”
Then I will rejoice in the presence of the Lord forever that much sooner.
What do you do with a person such as that, how do you confront them, what do you call them?
Born again.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20)
If this world does not hate you, then you need to figure out why not, if the unrepentant enjoy being in your company, then you need to contemplate why.
The only reason that the wicked would enjoy your company, why they would seek you out for friendship, conversation and pleasure is because you do not speak of the Almighty to them, you do not rebuke them in their evil ways, you never openly judge them with righteous judgment according to the Scriptures. You are one of them. If you did all of that, the world would hate you.
Plain and simple truth.
I do not believe that anyone would be conformed to the world unless they were embarrassed to speak of Him whom they profess to serve, and since they do not, they are only professing Him with their lips.
Plain and simple truth.
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46)
Feeding the poor, visiting the sick, showing love, do not sinners do these things? If the action of love is not combined with the words of the One you say you love, the reason you are performing those deeds, then you are no different than the world. You have not set yourself apart from them by giving them that drink in His name, using the ever prevalent “catch words,” “That’s a blessing,” “Praise God,” “It must not be in His will,” “His will be done,” is that enough? Will that lead them to the knowledge of the truth that they are sinners and if they do not repent, they will die in their sins?
No, it will not.
Plain and simple truths.
The play called Christianity, the theater production of men and women on the stage repeating their lines, never offending, never compromising their place in society. Always polite.
“For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” (John 12:43)
Saying you love them, but not in a way that might make them feel bad or find fault within you when revealing the most important fault they have, living in open rebellion against the Most High God. Who is in a more open rebellion, the one who professes to serve the Lord, but does not obey fully, or the one who does not yet realize who the Sovereign Lord of all creation is, and what is required of them to become obedient?
“But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” (Luke 12:48)
I am not attempting to set myself above you here, I fail continuously at this task, but I am trying to warn those of you who profess to serve the Lord Jesus Christ yet never speak His name in public, those of you who use those “Scriptural catch phrases” and believe you have just witnessed to a lost soul. Those of you who think that because of the way you live your life, people should be able to tell that you are a Christian.
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
Perhaps you are fearful of everything you own being removed from you, that loved ones, family and friends will desert you. That you might be personally persecuted. You can change all of that simply by beginning to speak aloud to others one single name.
