Borrowed Truths

Picture of Borrowed Truths

Perception is what I see that you either did not see, or cannot see, it is my interpretation of a person, place, thing, or the occurrence of an event. It is, to use the term loosely, an altered recognition of something from one person to the next. It is not seeing something from a different perspective or a different vantage point, it is what we personally believe to be reality.

“In the beginning God created,” (Gen. 1:1) these five words offer truth to those who have been blessed with the knowledge of the truths given in the Word of God, but to those who are still blind, those who do not express what they consider our same “opinion,” these words simply imply our perception of what we claim to call truth. If one does not see the Lord God as Sovereign, as the Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of all that is, then that person’s perception of Him is incorrect, and will remain that way until He reveals Himself to them.

This world, at the present time, belongs to Satan, (2 Cor. 4:4) he is the god of this world, and as such he has the ability to alter the perception of those who are still blind, who live in the darkness of this world. His craft is lies, and he is the father of them, (John 8:44) he is more than adept at subtly and subterfuge, diversion and deceit are his tools, and he is very proficient above all at employing them. Mankind has been given free will by the Lord God, what we might perceive as a necessary evil, for without free will, one has no ability to choose, and so for this world the Lord has been merciful to His creation of man, He has given us the choice to recognize and accept His Sovereign control over all of creation, or to deny it.

It is here where the talents, if you will, of Satan finds its roots, its base, “Hath God said,” (Gen. 3:1) three words that challenge the authority of the Most High, but not to the Most High. “See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” (Deut. 32:39) Those three words spoken by our adversary were meant to offer a different perception of reality to our first parents, they were no more than a question, offered with no answer from him, but they were the words that allowed Adam and Eve to exercise their ability to choose, to employ their free will.

One must understand here that after the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was eaten by them, nothing in their immediate field of vision was altered, the sky remained the same intensive blue, the wind did not begin to howl, thorns and thistles (Gen. 3:18) did not immediately begin to appear, nothing external about them or the creation of God was altered in any way, except for how they perceived themselves. Their perception of who they were in their own eyes, and of each other was altered, and altered in such a dramatic way that they hid from the Lord when they heard Him approaching.

The perception of the Almighty of them though was not altered, in the eternal view, for He is omniscient, He knew before the creation that He spoke into being of this moment, and the path that mankind would take until the end of the age, when those who have rebelled against His Sovereignty will be judged at the Great White Throne, and those who have served Him as Lord and Savior will walk into an eternity in the presence of the fulness of joy and pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)

This current technological age that we live in is advantageous to our adversary, for it allows his work of altering the perceptions of the minds of men to be employed on a world-wide scale, few are left untouched by his lies and deceits. The majority of broadcasting venues are manipulated by him, used to offer his desires upon men for a final goal, to be worshipped. Satan cannot usurp the Almighty from His throne, God alone is Sovereign, yet he can sway the minds of men to his advantage, for if those two who walked in the garden of Eden, who spoke with God Himself could be so easily persuaded, how much more those who are so far removed in time from them.

But, it’s not enough for Satan to dissuade the minds of men in this area, his goal for mankind is not just to keep their eyes off the cross of Christ, but to change their perceptions entirely, to attempt to make them believe that the Lord does not exist at all, that He is no more than a man-made concept, a misinterpretation of their perceptions. “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” (2 Thess. 2:11) That delusion is the loss of understanding of the truth, they will believe the lie offered to them that there is indeed no God, that they themselves are the creators of their own destiny, that which is no more than dust will begin to swell up with pride.

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4) Only those who have been born-again, only those who have been crucified with Christ have been blessed to be able to see the truth of what is approaching, great days of tribulation, such as the world has never seen, and never will again. (Matt. 24:21) Those with their protest signs and megaphones attempting to change what is happening by marching in mass unison will fail, for they are attempting to alter nothing more than the laws put in place by evil men, and they believe the lie once again that other men placed in those positions would put in place laws that are beneficial to their perception of a positive reality.

Those in this world that agree with those who protest see their actions as admirable, and worthwhile, but they are just as blinded as those out on the street.

What is approaching cannot be stopped, only escaped from. Those who serve Jesus Christ as Lord can see these truths. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” (2 Thess. 2:7) The Holy Spirit of God is the only One who can now and always has held back the forces of evil on this planet, and it is through the children of the Most High God that He operates. We are those children, we are those servants, and it is our responsibility to warn all who will listen, in any way possible of the days that are approaching. Our perception is not skewed, we walk in the Light, and we are to speak these truths, no matter the circumstances that the Lord has seen fit to place us in, or the possible consequences to ourselves.

Most will not listen, but some will, and some of those who will hear will be left behind after we meet the Lord in the air. (1 Thess. 4:17) Their perceptions will be altered, they will continue after we are gone, and the Lord will continue to be glorified, for He alone is worthy of all praise, honor and glory.
