Pain

Pain takes your mind off of other things, it makes it difficult to concentrate on the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes becomes less brilliant when pain is at the threshold, a man who is writhing in pain gives little thought to his great place in the world, his station in life, or how he is envisioned in the eyes of the world. Pain is the great conqueror.

In hell there is time to ponder, time to reflect on what once was, the life completely wasted, the mistakes made, and of course, the greatest mistake of all, continuing to live a life of sin and open rebellion to Him who holds the destiny of all mankind in His hands. In the Lake of Fire there is pain, pain incomprehensible, pain inflicted by a loving God who no longer offers His love to those there.

The flesh is the recipient of pain, and the mind is detoured by it, depending on the amount of pain, all other aspects of life take a back seat, as it were, it encompasses our entire being, it takes up all of our thoughts, our lives revolve around one thing, the pain. Pharmaceutical companies are extremely well versed in how to alleviate pain, and I do not want to know where they get their test subjects, or how they perform their tests to come about their conclusions.  “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Gen. 6:5)

The price that was paid for the soul of man, for all men, was paid by the Lord Jesus Christ at the cross, when we were created, we were given free will, such was the desire of the Lord. Satan is not an afterthought, but he is not really necessary when it comes to our ability to rebel against the will of the Lord God, we do not need our adversary for us to choose poorly. The sacrifice of Christ was made so that we would have the opportunity to choose freely who we would serve, ourselves or the Lord, there are rewards for those that choose Him, and punishment for those who will not. Pain, eternal pain, is the only option for these.

This is how much the sacrifice that was made for us means to the Almighty, this is why those who refuse are punished eternally, there has never been another way, complete and total separation from the love of the Lord, pain of the heart, and fire, pain of the flesh. “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Daniel 12:2) A toothache, a side ache, a broken bone, all and every physical pain that we experience takes our thoughts off nearly everything else, the focus of life is based around the pain.

In all reality, we do not know the meaning of pain, and if Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, you never will, all pains of the flesh are temporary, even if they last for your entire life on earth, death kills all pain for us. “As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men.” (Isaiah 52:14) Jesus took the pain for you, “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.” (Isaiah 53:10)

There has always been, at least in the last few decades, this conundrum among believers in Christ, the ongoing debate, when physical pain arrives, are we to run to the medical clinic, or to the Great Physician, to the world and its pills and procedures, or to the Lord? It’s not a subject I will entertain in this short letter to you today, perhaps it is one we will return to, if the Lord so desires at some future time, but there is something you must contemplate, who sent the pain?

If you have determined in your mind and heart that you will not wear a mask, that you will not receive their injection, then you may have to seriously contemplate that question one day, for if you will not submit to this new order regarding the treatment of pain, these stipulations that the ever increasing evil world has placed upon mankind, then you will not be treated for that pain by them. “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.” (2 Cor. 12:7) Did you know that Paul traveled almost everywhere with a physician by the name of Luke, but that there was pain sent by the Lord to remind him who it was he was to rely on. Pain is the great persuader, who you run to when it arrives will say much about your faith in Christ.
