Opposites

“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;” (Romans 12:10)

Peter and John were sent down to Samaria together, they were together when Peter told the man that he had no silver or gold for him. Alpha and Omega, if you will. One a brutish man who not only spoke what he meant but acted upon those words, the other one who was content just to lean on the chest of the Lord Jesus Christ. One more forceful than the other, one more compassionate, again, if you will, than the other.

Would you care to guess which one most people gravitate to, even today, can you see why our adversary is attempting to force a false love upon all on this planet?

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

Service to Christ visible to others is proof in their eyes of who you serve, service done with nothing but love for the Savior is proof in your heart.

You must understand this fully, every single person born has been given free will, they can do as they please with their life, that is how the Almighty has determined mankind to be. Once what was considered shameful to even be considered in the thoughts of oneself is now done openly in public, and those that do those these things have the free will to do so. It is not our place to force the knowledge of the will of God upon them anymore than it is for them to force us to accept whatever deviant behavior and lifestyle they have chosen for themselves.

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” (1st John 1:5)

This is the half-truth of Satan, this is the twisting of the truth in these dark days, that if you do not accept the choices that those who are living in sin have chosen for themselves, no matter what that choice is, then you are not a loving, caring person. You are, to use an analogy of Peter and John, crude and too stringent in your message, and not loving as John was.

And far too many who profess Christ as Lord have fallen into the subtle deception, love is the all-encompassing answer to the wicked, which they see as only confused people. Not openly rebuking, not warning them if they do not repent and turn from their evil ways that they will be eternally damned.

I am quite sure that John could and probably did openly rebuke some at times, as sure as I am that Peter could show great compassionate love, but it was no more natural for either of them to go against what the Holy Spirit put into their hearts than it is for you or me.

Contemplate the infinite wisdom of the Lord, sending two complete opposites together, two opposites will balance each other perfectly for His glory.

My lovely wife and I are these opposites, you know someone intimately that serves the Lord as well who is your opposite.

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16)

“Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?” (Psalm 139:21)

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” (Matt. 5:44)

And again, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

The Holy Spirit knows your nature, your personality better than you do, listen to Him. You would no more see Peter leaning against the chest of the Lord Jesus Christ than you would hear John spewing curse words. Do not try to be who you are not meant to be, be what the Almighty has called you to be.

I will kneel at the feet of my Lord when I see Him for the first time, my beautiful wife will hug Him until she is told to let go.

The subtle trap of this false love is permeating the planet, see it for what it is.

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)
