There are tens of millions, perhaps hundreds of millions of avenues to express our opinions today, and it seems as if almost everyone wants to express their opinion.
News media outlets are rarely found to be just that anymore, they are opinion editors, the simple addition of or manipulation of a single word can modify the context to the desired end that the owner or owners of that station have determined as the most viable and relative, in their opinion. Nearly every venue on the internet is now monitored, and those who employ their own ideologies that are not concurrent to the so-called desired thought processes that they want the majority of the world to be upon are removed. Free speech in the temporal is necessary, is very important, in the eternal, not so much.
The “They” of course is Satan and the demons who fell with him from glory, cast here to attempt to disturb the path that man is to be on, that of glorifying the Most High. There is always someone in charge, in both the earthly and eternal reign, that is God, it is Christ who rules in the kingdom of men. (Dan. 4:17) There is no viable debate here, the temporary, that which will not last throughout eternity, is only relevant to those who are alive at this time, and so the value that we place on it should be just as relevant, and if you will pause for just a moment to think about that statement, you will see that all outside of Christ is irrelevant.
Our Lord has in the past and will again show all that the wisdom of the world is foolishness, (1 Cor. 3:19) that pride filled men who believe themselves to be in charge are nothing more than the morning dew, (Hosea 13:3) and that the service and servant of self is nothing more than the servant of death. How many times in the past of this planet have men stepped up and by coercion, force, platitudes and every other means conquered the world, and where are they now. A few ruled the majority of the known world of their day, others at different times in history large parts of it, but all are now gone, along with everyone that was subjected to their cruel wrath and obsession with power and control.
The verse is true, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) You have every right, as it were, to express your opinion, whether it be large groups, to an individual in private, or even to yourself, and those who own the satellites, the television stations, even the internet, have every right not to let you on their sites, the question is this, is your opinion based on the so-called needs of the temporary, or the eternal.
I liken these particular days we are in to the days of our Lord here on earth, where it says, “But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.” (Acts 5:39) It is this simple, if God sends you to get His word out, His word will go out, and “it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) It matters little, in fact, it does not matter whatsoever how man, or our adversary attempts to stop it, if God has determined a thing, that thing will happen.
We are the responsible party, we are the sent-out ones, our opinions are to rest upon the Rock of our salvation, our opinions reflect the will of God for man, we speak of the eternal, the temporary is irrelevant, and sooner than most would like to admit today will be nothing more than a distant memory. Every person in hell at this moment, every single soul has only one desire today, to have another chance, to be able to repent and be forgiven, but that day will never come for them. Every person that was alive on this planet two hundred years ago thought their opinion mattered, and every one of them today knows for a fact that it did not. Those who remained on the path, those that gave their lives to and for Christ knew when they were here what was truly important, we should also. This too shall pass.
