“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” (1st Cor. 2:2)
What shall it be today? Possible alien encounters and unidentified flying objects, false prophets with their dreams and visions, their portents of Christ’s return because a river is drying up or an asteroid is heading this way? An economic crash, Uniform Basic Income or perhaps the Centralized Digital Currency? Perhaps rampant crime across the planet, those so-called elites who desire to be kings and rulers over us, the politicians denouncing “Big Tech” while thy make enormous profits from their ventures with them.
Which diversions would you like to speak of today? Injuries and deaths from the supposed vaccines, or the injury to your walk with the Lord because of being subtly manipulated by all these diversions of our adversary.
The father of lies is working overtime, so to speak, and these diversions are just the beginning. “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Rev. 13:15) We may have much more to witness my friends before the Lord Jesus Christ calls us up into the clouds, more diversions and probably more so-called signs and miracles, the beginnings of sorrows must come to an end sometime though, the days of Jacob’s Troubles will begin when we are gone.
I ask you again as I have many times in the past, what are you spending more time on, those never-ending and growing diversions or the Word of God, are you seeking for the “next sign” or for His face? “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” (Psalm 91:7)
The watchmen on the wall do not become entangled with what they see from their look-out positions, they do not stare with mouths open and eyes unbelieving at what they see, they sound the alarm, but like the old story of the boy that cried wolf, far too many believe every occurrence of something supernatural, something unexplainable must be broadcast for all to see, but what they have forgotten is that in that story people eventually stopped listening to that young boy, and when the wolf actually did arrive, he was devoured by him.
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matt. 5:13)
If this describes you, if you are consumed and infatuated with every new item that appears and attempt to warn those who listen to you about them, sooner or later they will stop listening, and it will not be because you are right, but because you have been wrong too many times. This is the trap laid by Satan for those whose main focus is the Rapture, instead of reaching the lost for Christ, for those who are continually searching the skies are quite easily tripped up. What good does it do, how is it profitable to speak of the Rapture if you do not tell them what they must do to be a part of it, warning them of what is approaching without showing them the only One who can save them from the wrath of God does no one any good whatsoever.
We are told to comfort each other with these words, and then get back to serving Christ for the glory of God through the power given us in the Holy Spirit. Not nearly as accepted by them, but the only message worth giving.
