One At A Time

I have seen videos on YouTube that have amassed over fifty million views. There are over eight billion people on the planet today, so it seems like they have a ways to go.

I have watched false prophets say that the Almighty has spoken to them personally about some new revelation that all must be made aware of, reaching thousands of views. A long way from eight billion.

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matt. 24:14)

I read of a missionary, a God-fearing man, who, although his work was indeed admirable, thought that by him doing this work it would hasten the return of the Lord.

Does your neighbor down the street know about the Lord Jesus Christ? How about that person you work beside every day, have they heard the message of the Gospels?

A recent video I posted on the Borrowed Truths YouTube channel received, so far, almost six thousand views, the next one got fifty. The title of any video, including these letters, is what will initially grab the attention of any potential viewer, and here I will let you in on a little secret. I do not know the title of any of these Letters of Truth until I have completed writing them.

I bring all this to your attention for this one simple truth, we do not know how those we witness to will react to what we have to say concerning the Scriptures. We have the hope they will hear; we pray as we speak to them, both asking the Lord to open their ears, and to the Holy Spirit, asking Him to give us the words they need to hear. But we must always remember this old line. “You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink.”

Eight billion people alive today, hundreds of billions since Adam harkened to the voice of his wife, and this verse stands as a truth with every single one of them.

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20)

We attempt to bring the reality of the Spiritual realm into this physical realm of reality every time we speak to them, trying by His truths to make those invisible things a little more clearly seen by them. Most will not listen, at least not today and perhaps never, some may, and one day they may hear and heed His voice. We do not need to hope thousands or even millions will hear what we are sent to offer, and you can probably forget about billions of them.

I spoke to one woman once a long time ago, one who thought me a fool, who did not want to listen, but who loves me, so she did. She has placed thousands of Biblical tracts in hundreds of different locations in the last few years. How many have read them and called upon the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of their souls?

This is how the Holy Spirit works, it is how He has always worked, one person at a time, one heart at a time.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God.” (James 4:7a)

How many views will this letter get? Does it need to be more than one? Will that one find within its words encouragement, strength to move forward on the path, faith to take a step they did not feel they could take before? Isn’t that what matters?

Not the amount, but the power of the Holy Spirit working in a willing heart.

I am almost at the bottom of the paper here, the words have once again flowed from my old pen, and I have read them as they appear. The Lord Jesus Christ leads, we follow, trusting every step to Him.

Reach out to one, let Him take care of the amount of people He will call to Himself from there.

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)
