The news media is beginning to lose the narrative, they are starting to flounder for items to keep the general public in that constant state of attention, mixed with the latent, subtle fear necessary to keep them “tuned in.”
These subtle shifts are noticeable with little effort if one will ask for Spiritual discernment, masses of humanity now homeless, those same amount of people attempting to stream across the borders of countries, a murder trial here or there, and of course the always available threat of imminent wars. Without someone paying attention to them, they serve no purpose, these bringers of so-called relevant information. “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2 Tim. 3:13)
It is a rare man who can stay on track, he must be willing to be led by the Holy Spirit, he must be willing to listen, and obey, no matter how odd or disparaging the leading may be. “Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.” (Eze. 4:4) My personal initial thought would probably be, “You’re kidding, right?”
“For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” (Acts 9:16) “Oh no, what have I gotten myself into?”
Those that are being deceived are those that notice nothing in the Spiritual realm, those that are already deceived do not even attempt to any longer, they see only the possibility of the advancement of self, or the continuation of life in this world for as long as possible.
We are the light, (Matt. 5:14) we are the salt, (Matt. 5:13) and if we are not warning them, they will not be warned. Without asking the Lord fervently each day to keep you upon the path that He has called you to be on, you will lose your way, you will begin to see these minor occurrences that are being offered to you by those in the media as important, as relevant to your daily movements, and you will also become, at least temporarily, deceived. This does not only apply to the so-called news, but to your Spiritual walk as well, those who have not been blessed by the Lord with His inerrant Word and will, will lead you astray if you do not constantly study to show yourself approved, (2 Tim. 2:15) if you are not continually contemplating the Lord God, and humbly seeking His face for guidance in your life.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
The innumerable religious organizations in this world are proof of this. One of the main things that all who have been crucified with Christ is not just that He would lead us, but that we would desire to follow Him, willingly, without thought even to our own lives, in humility, in complete subjection to His will.
Satan’s greatest ploy, in fact perhaps the only one that he has of any value in the life of the born-again believer, is deception, diversions, attempting to coerce us into believing that something temporal is of eternal value. Temptation is in a sense a part of this ploy, for indeed we must be tempted to believe his lies, an offering to our ever-present pride, vanity, lust and all other areas of our lives is the hook, if you will.
I cannot tell you how many of those informational sights out there are filled with people who actually believe what they offer, and how many simply want to keep their jobs, or stay in the limelight, that is in itself inconsequential. What is important is whether or not you can tell the truth from a lie. Adam and Eve could not, Solomon was deceived in his old age, the cost to David more than once was high, Judas Iscariot was led down the wrong path.
Every one of us that is saved by the grace of God has the Holy Spirit within us, trust Him, test the Spirits, (1 John 4:1) pray to be shown the truth, and let all that is not of that truth fall by the wayside. There is much wood, hay and stubble out there, it is why gold, silver and precious stones are difficult to find.
