I just watched a very short video of a true brother in Christ speaking to a small group of Mormons on a street corner, and unless something occurred after the camera was turned off, his main focus was on not offending them. He did not challenge their beliefs, he did not offer any of the truths of God beyond the fact that we are saved by grace, his main focus was on how Mormons are some of the nicest people and not saying anything to offend them.
I will presume here that when I go to the comments section, I will read many of them that will say in effect how “we need to pray for these people,” but nothing on how we should speak to them when we are in their presence. “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:” (Prov. 6:23)
This happens constantly with most of the people that call themselves Christians these days, afraid to offend people, afraid to stand for God, afraid to tell people that if they do not repent and call upon the name of the Lord they will suffer eternal damnation and most of them do not give one thought as to how they will answer the Lord when He asks them, “Why didn’t you tell them?” Some of these are truly born-again, some of them are indeed heirs to the Kingdom of heaven, and most of them are afraid to say so, they are fearful of mankind, of the possible retributions upon themselves that they may incur if they stand for the Lord Jesus Christ.
But they do not seem to fear God.
This in my opinion is the surest sign of the apostacy, the great falling away, and it is proof of the truth of Matthew 24:12, “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” You say you love them, you say you love the Lord Jesus Christ, yet you fear to offend those you speak to, whether they are secularized lost souls or trapped by a false religious system.
“And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.” (1 Kings 18:27) If you meet one Elijah in this life I would be surprised, if you meet one man of God who says, “Thus saith the Lord,” and shows those lost souls that they are on their way to hell if they do not come out of there I would be surprised.
You tell me, does it show a lack of love for your neighbor to watch him running headlong into the Lake of Fire because you did not want to hurt their feelings?
To be honest with you these people that profess Christ with their lips sicken me, when that should not be my stance, in love though if I do not say something then I have become one of them, I will fall into that same evil trap of always being polite, never too “pushy,” never taking the possibility of offending anyone with the truths of the Scriptures. How many people are in hell right now screaming in anger at those who would not tell them, how many people in heaven shed tears every day because they would rather deny the Lord at that moment then take the chance of possibly offending someone.
You know what my friends, I really do not care if people like me or not, I am not here to serve people, I am here to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, it is Him that I will do all in my power to not offend. “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Cor. 9:16)
