I am not a part of the “Human Society,” I have not been now for over three decades. I have been and still am being trained to move away from that society, to learn the rules and regulations of the place of my new citizenship.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
I look like those from this earth, but I am no longer like them, I do not follow their ways, I do not adhere to their moral constructs, their religions, ideologies, or what they consider to be right or wrong any longer.
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18)
Their fears are not my fears, I no longer walk their path, I care nothing for their ways, save in this one respect, I was once one of them and can reveal the way for them to leave all the cares of this world behind as well.
We who have been born-again my friends are the enemy of this world, we show to them the way to escape, and they hate us for revealing these truths to them. We tell them that which they seek the most, the friendship of this world, is the cause that they are the enemy of God. We hate what they love and desire.
Contemplate this verse.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)
Ask yourself this question, if those who love the world are the enemy of the Living God, then what of those of the world who love those who profess to serve Christ? Can one be loved by those in and of the world who serve the Almighty? Are they then of the world or of Christ?
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matt. 6:24)
This verse and others like it do not just refer to money, but to everything that is of this world, if those in this world do not hate you, then you are of this world. You may pretend to serve Christ, but not in front of them, you may hide His words in your heart, but never speak them to those you meet, for if you did, and that in sincerity for the condition of their soul, they would have nothing to do with you.
Light is not just supposed to have no place with darkness my friends, but darkness has no desire whatsoever to come into the light.
If you are still of this world, then it is easily seen by the majority of your close personal friends, for they will still be of the world as well. You must determine if this is a truth in your life or not.
“And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.” (Luke 8:21)
This is a steppingstone in our sanctification, one that many still stumble over many times in their walk to that strait gate, but one that all those who are only professing Him with their lips will never step upon. To them, the continuation of human companionship, even if it is of the wicked, the unrepentant “good people,” is far better than a life lived alone with only the Lord Jesus Christ to call upon.
Until He becomes your exceeding and great reward, you will never understand this short letter, you will continue to keep one foot in this world and another in heaven, you will try to serve two masters, and you will fail.
Am I going to tell you to leave all those friends and even your family members? No, that is not my place, you are accountable for you, and you will be held accountable for your decision.
Know this though, the King I serve, the Master all who have been crucified with Christ serve, is kind, but just.
He is everything to you or He is nothing.
“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46)
Where is your citizenship?
