Not Intended?

Whenever my lovely wife and I need to travel somewhere in our vehicle she reads from a book for us, one that the writer has intended to glorify God with. Whenever one reads from any such book, much Spiritual discernment and prayer must be employed, for not every sentence is always correct in the Spiritual matters they are attempting to expound upon. And by the way, that goes for these letters written to you also.

In the particular book we are going through at this time, the writer uses the phrase “not what God intended” quite frequently, and personally I can think of fewer words put together in such a way that make less sense. To say that an event has occurred that God did not intend to happen is to deny His supreme Sovereignty over creation, it is to say that He is not ruling in the kingdom of men, (Daniel 4:17) it is to state that something is out of His control, and it is foolishness in the extreme to believe such a thing.

The Almighty is called the Almighty because that is what He is, He knows everything, He is everywhere, and He is by no means a bystander in any part of His creation, and that means also in the lives of men. The Lord knew before He made Satan what he was going to do, He knew what Adam and Eve would do in the garden of Eden, He knew about the flood, the cross, the redemption, He knew the thoughts you just had while reading these words. “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” (Psalm 139:7)

To say something was not the intention of God is to say that He is not in complete control, that some outside force had the ability to modify the plans of the Most High, and that is impossible. “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:26)

Herein lies the fallacy of many who call Jesus Christ Lord, they think they have a say in the eternal plans of the Most High, they believe they can modify His actions that have been set in place before the foundation of the world. We are not actors in a play that has been set up, we do not have lines that must be said, we have free will, yet the Almighty knows what you are going to do today as easily as He knows what you are going to be doing ten million years from today. It is not a symbiotic relationship, God does not need us, we need Him, yet James 5:16 stands as truth, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Our free will and the unquestionable Sovereignty of the Lord God Almighty will never be fully understood by any of us, ever, no matter how well the greatest theologian attempts to expound upon it. What God has intended cannot be thwarted by dust, by angel, by devil, by none, anywhere, ever. “And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Daniel 4:35)

What we think is impossible is possible with God, the laws of nature do not apply to the One who made nature, the ways of man, his thoughts, his intentions, do not affect Him in any way whatsoever. “See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” (Deut. 32:39) “And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.” (Matt. 3:9)

I believe that the man who wrote this current book we are reading is saved, I believe he desires to glorify God, but if I ever get an opportunity to meet him, I will express these thoughts to him, for one of the most foolish and ridiculous things I have ever heard is “It was not what God intended.”

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
