No Sudden Fear

Seven days, the Lord told Noah to get into the ark seven days before the flood began. “And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” (Gen. 7:1-4)

I am sure there has been much written on this particular verse, for seven is an important number to the Lord, and it can be corelated by some I am sure in reference to the times we are living now, the signs are sure, and we are “as it was in the days of Noe.” (Luke 17:26) As these days approach, as evil gains more of a foothold, it is up to us, it is up to every single born-again believer to not sway in this wind that is coming, we must stand. The world is going to be living in constant fear very soon, those who are being led by their father the devil will become more and more emboldened, new rules will be placed and enforced upon the general population all in the name of security and protection of the human race, but we must see them for what they truly are, the desire by spiritual powers in high places for complete and total obedience.

We must all be in prayer for eyes and ears that can discern the difference between good and evil, for soon one of the most popular verses you will hear amongst those that are only professing Christ with their lips, from the religious organizations that do not fear or truly serve the Lord will be “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” (Romans 13:1) We are indeed to be so, until they do not agree or attempt to override our first obligation, our service to the Most High.

Those edicts and mandates will start slowly at first, and will seem to many as the proper and right thing to do, lies will sound like the truth to those who have not prayed for ears to hear, television, internet, and other visual outlets will show dire warnings of the consequences of those who did not submit to the new and ever growing rules that will attempt to be imposed upon all. Subtlety will be the key, with much fear thrown in with it, hearsay and rumors will replace known facts, and those with the facts, the truths of the matter, if they cannot be erased from the airwaves, will be debunked or removed in whatever way necessary.

Our adversary is done whispering in people’s ears my friends, violence will be the key to his rise in power. I realize that for some of you reading this much trepidation perhaps has entered your mind, and well it should if you are not prepared to serve our Lord to the end, but that fear can be put in its proper place, and that place is far from the believing heart of the children of the Most High. “The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.” (Psalm 145:17-20)

Let Him know of your fears, tell Him the truth about how you feel, He has the power to change the way you think, He has the ability to set your mind at ease, He is able to save us from ourselves, those parts of us that we want gone the most. We as believers will not see the worst of it, we will not be here to experience the wrath of God, no matter how many verses the mid and post tribulation people take out of context, “but every man a liar.” (Romans 3:4) If they are truly saved, they will find out the truth of these statements for themselves, and be all the more thankful to Him for it.

But that does not mean that it is going to be going well for every one of His children before His return, one cannot compare seven days to 120 years in the building of the ark, remember, the angels spent the night as Lot’s house. (Gen. 19:15) So what are we to do in these days, how do we serve without fear, how do we continue to accomplish the tasks that the Lord has set before us? “Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” (Prov. 3:25-26)

The desolation of the wicked are going to try everything they can to get us to bow before the image, as it were, we must be prepared to walk into the fire if He says to, we must know for a fact that Who we serve suffered more than we could ever imagine, we must remember His perfect love for us, (1 John 4:18) we must stand as we have been commanded to, (Eph. 6:13) we must remember 1 Peter 4:12 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.” Whether it be seven seconds or seven days, the Lord will not cast His bowls of wrath upon this sinful world until all of His children are safely in the ark.
