No Challenges

Have you ever met those individuals that believe there is some type of Spiritual warfare going on between Satan and the Lord God, as if some great conflict is occurring not only here on earth but in the heavenlies that has Satan and God pitted against each other. I can think of fewer things that demean the Sovereignty of the Almighty than thoughts that there is a challenge for Him in any area, He who spoke all of creation into being, who created and sustains all that is (Col. 1:17) does not know what a challenge is. He has never needed or been able to put Himself to a test to see if He can do something or not.

If He had not brought into existence our adversary and those angels that fell with him, there would not exist an adversary to our souls, there would be no one to stand before Him and accuse us. If He had not given Adam and Eve the gift of free will, there would have been no fall. If He had not placed the tree in the garden of the knowledge of good and evil there would not have existed that temptation. Everything that God does is by design, and all is done for His glory, so that He can show His mercy, love, compassion, wrath and vengeance to exhibit His complete and total Sovereignty over all that is.

These thoughts can be a great stumbling block to many, for it is incomprehensible to them to admit that if the Lord had not created Satan and our ability towards rebellion then life would be different, we would have chosen to serve Him by our own free will. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10)

During the Millennial period, that thousand years when all satanic influence is removed from this planet, men will still sin, because grace requires free will to exist, love requires the ability to choose. “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Heb. 4:13) God knows everything, He always has, and He always will, there are no surprises to Him and so there are no challenges to His authority, He does what He wants, when He wants and for His purposes sin and evil are allowed to exist.

“What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction.” (Romans 9:22)

You can question these truths all you want, you can contend a different viewpoint if you so desire to, but you will be wrong, everything that is has been determined by the Lord to exist, nothing has happened by luck, chance or coincidence, these items do not exist. God is Sovereign, He knew when He created Lucifer what he was going to do, He knew all about the incident that would occur in the garden of Eden before He created the heavens and the earth, He knew before you were formed in your mother’s womb whether or not you were going to be in His kingdom forever, or if you would spend eternity in hell, He has always known everything. Without this total and complete control over all that is He would not be God.

You may ask why until the sun goes down and it will avail you nothing, you cannot contend with God. (Acts 5:39) He does and has done as He pleases, there are no words to express Him, we cannot know the mind of God, but you can use that free will that He has blessed you with to submit in humility to Him, to call upon the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of your soul, and accept the fact that His will, will be done. There really is no other choice, unless you want to go to hell, for that is also what He has determined, submit or perish forever in pain and hopelessness. You have the choice, you are being challenged, He is not, the decision is yours, He has determined it to be this way, and He cannot be challenged in this or any other manner.
