Contentious, too adamant, too forthright, unbending, unswerveable. Too much of “Thus saith the Lord” for some, if not most people.
“And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.” (1st Kings 18:27)
It does not bother me in the least to be as I am at times, which is most of the time. I have no qualms about speaking boldly about the truths of the Scriptures when they have been revealed as such by the Holy Spirit to me, and yes, in a way you may not be able to fully understand today, I test the Spirits even when I initially believe it is the Lord revealing those truths to me, for I know full well the deceitfulness of my own heart and the power of our adversary in these matters of truth.
So when I am offering the truths of the Word of God to those who refuse to accept them as such, who have determined to believe whatever lies they have received or concocted in their own minds, it does not bother me at all to tell them they are not welcome in our house, to not bid them godspeed, to treat them like a Gentile. And if it comes to it, I will tell them they are a fool, and I would be speaking the truth.
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1a)
When I meet those who will not accept the error of their beliefs and they say to me that we will just have to agree to disagree, I tell them never, for the man of God who has determined to stand on the Rock of his salvation is not so easily swayed.
“But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.” (James 5:12)
I really do not care if they are offended by His truths, if they decide to reject them and remain in the lies, I am not trying to be polite, I am attempting to be kind, and if you do not know the difference between those words I pity you, for in this world today that is one of the main objectives of Satan, to intermingle those two words and make them one.
“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:” (Prov. 6:23)
Correction is kindness, reproving and rebuking are always done by those who understand the way of the love of the Almighty towards those souls He has created.
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:” (Eze. 33:11a)
We are to speak the truths of the Word of God always, there is to be no variance from this, if it hurts their feelings, if they hate you because of that, then that rests upon them, not you.
I have been known to raise my voice many times, to interrupt their speaking when I become frustrated with their foolish notions of works for salvation, for claiming there is no God in heaven, for spouting the nonsense that if I am not baptized, if I don’t eat the wafer or drink the grape juice, if I don’t do this or do too much of that I am not saved.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Eph. 5:11)
I was brought up in a home that had one-hundred-pound German shepherds with two-inch-long fangs, and I was taught that there can only be one alpha wolf in the house.
Be that person, do not let the wiles of the devil coerce you into believing that all the Christians are nice, polite, wonderful people who can get along with everyone. If that person is of the darkness and they refuse to see the light, have nothing to do with them. Learn to recognize the swine and keep the pearls of God in your pocket.
In these days great attempts are being made to destroy men, to remove them from society, the days are approaching when all who stand for Christ will be hunted down.
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” (Matt. 10:22)
Why? Because we will not back down from the truth.
If they don’t like that, too bad.
