Mourning or Morning?

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Prov. 29:2) Prepare to mourn, my friends.

The bands of Satan have been loosened, his chain has been lengthened, but the Lord is still in control. “If God is love, then why…” is going to be spoken by many in the near future, inconvenience and frustration is going to be changed to pain and suffering, evil men have always followed this pattern, Satan knows no compassion, but he is the most profound at acting the part.

All that is being proposed for our safety is no more than a charade for mandatory obligations, laws that will be set in place “For the welfare of all.” The Roman empire is being revived, and its cruelty will follow it. Pride is at the base of all evil men, they need recognition, and will achieve that recognition by force upon those that will not follow them, those that have been blessed with eyes to see by the Lord stand against evil and standing always requires a payment. One must be able to discern in days such as these the reason for standing, for if it is not for the right reason, it will avail nothing. One must consider the path that the Lord has placed them on, is it for the benefit of mankind, or the betterment of those they love, is it for self-recognition, or the glory of God?

Those who are mourning, at least some, still act. Jeremiah was told by the Lord as He sent him out that his message, his warning, would not be heeded, (Jer. 7:27) the people would mourn and fear the approaching, but not act upon the information that the Lord was giving them. We are in a sense the same, if we are listening. We offer warnings to those who are and will mourn, but they will not heed the warnings, they see us as fools. “And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Peter 3:4)

They protest, walking up and down the avenues, and yet the mandates continue, they post their frustrations on a myriad of social media sites, yet they continue to see the hope of their cause dwindle. We offer them the knowledge of salvation, they tell us we are weak-willed, that now is important, that if we do not pull together, we will lose this battle. They will not admit they will mourn, they do not yet know what the word evil means, but they will, and so we keep reaching out to them.

If you understand what has been written here, then you understand the balance of mourning and joy. “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5) is walking beside, “Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.” (Jer. 20:9) A man’s life is altered forever when he sees the enemy approaching, but the assurance that “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” (Psalm 91:10) keeps us following Christ, the truth of Deuteronomy 31:8, “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed,” gives us strength to continue.

We are as in the days of Noah, those who have been born-again know for a fact that it is going to start raining soon, there is no doubt of this truth, so as we work, we warn, as they mock, we continue to speak truth.

Once power over other men’s lives is tasted, it is a difficult taste to lose, pride is a beast that must be fed every day. The difficulty lies not in the world and those who are attempting to be the masters of it, but in our resolve to serve the Lord God, in our desire to purpose in our hearts that He who gave His life for us is worthy of our lives.

There will be little cause for rejoicing in the days ahead if you do not know Christ as Lord, but if you do, then your rejoicing has not ceased since you called Him Lord. That is the message we are to give. Proverbs 3:5-6 is going to become more than a memory verse to many soon. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
