Experiences are categorized as memories, and perhaps except for the worldly item, that small materialistic trinket, all you have of that experience is a memory. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) This verse and others like it make it quite clear that you will take no material item with you when you leave this planet, when you leave that mortal shell, and the wicked do not even need the proofs of the Word of God to realize this truth, its quite easy to see that when we die everything we owned is still here, we are not even in our body anymore, we are gone.
To the majority of mankind where we go when we die is debatable, but that is not the main point of this short letter to you, it is those experiences not just past, those memories so many cling so desperately to, but the future, the remaining life that one has left, and how they plan to live it.
Nearly all of mankind sets some type of future before themselves, they plan what they either need to do or want to do, but there is one constant, one absolute that stands as truth here, you cannot guarantee that future. “But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” (Luke 12:20)
I believe most of us, when we reach a certain age, and begin to see the sunset of our lives more clearly than those in their youth do, is why when someone dies at a young age, it is called tragic, but at a very old age many times a blessing. The experiences are what matter to most, and so, in essence, a full life, as it is termed, can mean both that reaching of many years, or one that encapsulated many experiences in a short time. “He died in the prime of life” is what is repeated then. The profit of a man’s life can be viewed only in two ways, how it was spent for self and others, or how it was used for the glory of God, there are no other options.
I would ask you to contemplate these truths from the Scriptures. “And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” (Luke 16:31) Also “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” (Rev. 13:3) Proof of the afterlife will not change many people’s minds, those witnessed the truth of Jesus Christ walking out of that tomb is the validity of that statement, even many who met Him in person after He rose from the dead still doubted, or at least attempted to dissuade and even kill those that were offering this truth to any who would listen, no different than they continue to do today even two thousand years later.
But when the antichrist is apparently killed, and then supposedly brought back to life, the whole world will wonder after him. Those in the days of Tribulation who will be shown the lie of that moment will need to be hunted down and killed, for a lie cannot continue once it is exposed.
My friends, those experiences you have stored away as memories can only be used as a base, as it were, to plane for your future, a future that you have absolutely no total control over, you cannot even guarantee your next breath, but I can guarantee you one thing, you will die, unless you are already born-again and may possibly be blessed to be a part of the Rapture, you will die, and there is only one thing out of all of the entirety of your life that you will take with you, your memories.
The Word of God says that “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1) This means that all those who have acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord and have dedicated whatever time they have left in this life to His service will go to heaven when they die. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36) This verse states that all who will not do so will not go to heaven, but to hell, for they have denied the Lord Jesus Christ as the only means to their salvation, as the only One who could pay the price for their sins.
If you are not yet saved, I ask only that you would contemplate these words, perhaps spend a few minutes looking at the Scriptures, and then decide for yourself if it is truth or not. The experience of doing so may change your life forever, and will be the determining factor, depending on your decision, of the entirety of the rest of all your memories throughout all of eternity.
