Living With, Not In, Fear

Fear not.

When the programs on the television show a world that is preparing to tear itself apart, fear not.

While the world’s economy is preparing to crash, while evil men rule over millions, fear not.

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28)

Fear is not what motivates us to action, love is, and that love needs to continuously be offered to all who will listen. Those who are afraid today are in fear because they can see no hope, we are to offer hope to them. In whatever way the Lord has called you in these final days, behave continuously without fear, and always for His glory.

If you believe that evil is growing exponentially, that iniquity is abounding, you are correct, but if you live in a state of fear, you will not only be unprofitable for the Kingdom of God, but towards those whom He is sending to you. Here is where we find ourselves at, the flesh is fearing, but the mind is serving, so in the midst of the fear, we must serve well, we must rest assured in the promises.

“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” (Deut. 31:8)

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:3)

The fear of the flesh can be swayed by the promises found in the Word of God, by the comfort that the Holy Spirit will bring into your soul. Everything may be falling apart but us. Anxiety, anxiousness, nervous trepidation, all of these can be lived with, each and every day, if you will hold onto the promises, if your faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has said to us, that His love for us will never end.

Do not feel shame when you fear, think on the Lord that night in the garden. “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” (Matt. 26:39) It was not possible, it was determined that the ultimate sacrifice needed to be made, and He was the only One that could fulfill that task. And so He fulfilled the will of the Father

Fear can be overpowered when we know we are in the will of God, when our lives, and deaths are willingly given over to Him to do as He pleases with us. The flesh indeed will fear, for when we leave this mortal plane it will have no more power over us, we will be free indeed. In a way we can be free right now, if we understand that the Almighty is just that, Almighty, the Most High, and everything that is occurring across the planet He is in complete control over.

There is great assurance in this truth. The end of life here is the beginning of life renewed, forever without fear again.

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Heb. 10:23) Remember that, never forget it, rest in the complete assurance of it.

The days are quickly approaching when fear will be the dominate emotional state of nearly everyone, the pinnacle of that fear will be the loss of life, and for those who do not yet know the Lord Jesus Christ, that fear is real. We are to help them to see that is can be removed, not from the flesh, but from the soul, from the mind that is being conformed into the image of Christ.

When, and if this fear comes upon you, remember the promises, remember those that have gone on before you, remember that He who is with you today will be with you tomorrow, whether it be here for another day, or in His Kingdom. The fear cannot be removed in this life, but with those things in mind, it can be lived with.
