“Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.” (Matt. 10:15)
To those of you that are well aware of the sins of that valley, consider that their punishment will be less severe than those the Lord was speaking to of that day. To deny the Son of God, of the sacrifice that was given for us is to seek for peril. “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” (Prov. 8:36)
Everything else in a person’s life should be shunted aside, should be treated as inconsequential when taken against this one truth, without Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, you will suffer beyond all knowledge forever, the pain will be unbearable in every way possible that can be imagined. Those who do not acknowledge Jesus as Lord of all do not realize this, it is our responsibility to show it to them, and it is why we must be able to see both places as real, heaven and hell.
Witnessing to the lost though with these thoughts in mind is not a high priority for many who are indeed saved today, the daily grind, thoughts of self above others and the continuing pressures that the world places upon us are. We have decided to love ourselves but not so much our neighbors anymore.
The world is clamoring for inclusivity, for enablement, for the treatment of all to be the same, and so in its eyes fair, save for those who are attempting to enact all these precepts, they of course as it always has been, are above all of this, someone after all needs to be in charge. “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” (Romans 1:32)
Those who live lives as those in Sodom and Gomorrah did in their day are to be treated with respect and understanding, not with the truth that they are living in grave danger of their eternal souls and are seen as wicked in the eyes of the Lord. Those who are in high places of authority are to be respected because of the office they hold, no matter how vile and disgusting their actions are, our neighbor in the eyes of many who claim Christ as Lord, no matter how wicked they are, are to be loved, never reproved, never corrected, never spoken to in love and the knowledge of the eternal suffering that awaits them if they do not repent. This is the life of many who claim Jesus Christ as Lord, concerned with self, not only in the eyes of man, but fearful to speak against evil for seeming to be unloving, yet claiming to love the Lord.
How much more will they suffer who have known the Lord of glory yet have despised and rejected Him as such, while at the same time professing Him. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17)
Inclusivity in the manner it is being brought into the world today means just keep your mouth shut as to how others have decided to live their lives, enablement means that you must agree to assist those who live in sin, or there will be personal repercussions. If you do not bake the cake for the sinner, we will take all you have, if you speak against sin, we will call it hate speech.
These truths have been with us since time began on this planet, yet there have been men of God who have stood against these great sins against the Most High, not only warning of their impending doom and eternal loss if they do not repent, but caring little for their own safety as they serve the risen Savior by hating evil and speaking out against it.
They are still around, though they are few and easily silenced by all media organizations, yet they persist for the glory of God and because they love their neighbor enough to warn them of their fate if they do not repent. I fear that much of the world is being prepared to suffer much more than Sodom and Gomorrah will, and that far too few who call Jesus Christ Lord are warning them.
