Justice Is Dead

“Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” (Eccl. 8:11)

I am going to bring up some statements in this short letter to you today that you may or may not agree with, but that is not the important part, what is important is your contemplation of them, for in contemplation of the Word of God we seek the will of God.

“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:6)

But does He change His purpose for mankind? Does the New Testament coalesce perfectly with the Old Testament in regard to the direction that the Almighty has for man, for those called to serve Him, and if so, why are those who have been born-again not called to go and kill everyone and everything in every sinful nation?

Were the Israelites going against the will of God when they did not do good to those who despitefully used them, when they did not rejoice in the spoiling of their goods? Have the rules been changed for those who have been crucified with Christ, are we to suffer witches to live, remain peaceable with blatant evil, is the only defensive weapon we are to ever use the Word of God, is our only offensive weapon the sword of the Spirit?

“Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.” (Deut. 19:19)

Does God change?

No.

Has He set different rules for those today who serve Him?

Go back and look at that opening verse to this letter, what if men of God witnessed a murder right in front of them, and they took the life of that murderer, do you see that as justice being executed speedily, or as something that should not be done? Would it be killing or murder in your eyes? It is definitely not vengeance, it is removing the evil, and that speedily, thereby the hearts of the wicked would think twice before stepping out into the night to commit crimes.

What are men of God to do as they watch the nation they live in being destroyed by those who have been set in authority over them?

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16)

That verse is in the Old Testament, is it now null and void?

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17)

That one is in the New Testament, does it now mean praying, carrying signs in protest, going before those evil leaders and demanding change, voting?

Personally, and many of you may take offense at these words, too many who profess to serve the Lord Jesus Christ it means nothing more than a “That’s just the way it is,” along with a defeatist, pessimistic, “Thy will be done,” all while doing little more about the evil than watching it on your monitor or television and then complaining about it.

“And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.” (Rev. 2:27)

In those thousand years days there will be no courtrooms, there will be no appeals courts, no plea bargaining, no time served for good behavior, there will be immediate justice, and the hearts of many will learn to obey, or punishment, and that grievous, will be swift.

Here is a line from an old movie for you that fits well here, “This morning we caught a murderer, this afternoon we tried him, tonight he will be executed, and it will be broadcast on every channel.”

Justice is dead my friends, mankind has perverted that word as much as he can, God is going to change that soon, billions are going to die, and then He is going to reign with a rod of righteousness.

Stand firm my brothers and sisters, it’s just getting started.
