Do we have a choice? If you perform deeds for someone that you love, are they done completely and fully because of love, or out of an obligation that love presses upon us?
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
Obedience, servitude for the sake of love, is not always an easy task, and you must consider this, if the desire not to continue in that obedience arrives within us, was it honestly love that compelled us in the first place?
It is called infatuation, and those who cannot discern between it and love, true abiding love, will use terminologies such as “falling in love.”
Love is not a pit we fall into, it is a mountain that must be climbed, and it is always an arduous journey, for the longer you are with someone, one of two things will happen, you will find a desire to love them even more as you learn about them, or you will realize the truth of that word “infatuation,” that your initial response was nothing more than an emotionally uplifting moment.
“Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” (Heb. 12:11)
I am going to reveal a truth to you that you may not care to hear, and it is this.
We do not love everything that our Father in heaven does.
He has allowed incalculable pain and suffering to exist on this planet for thousands of years, He has witnessed, allowed and even brought upon man and beast suffering we cannot even begin to imagine.
“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.” (Jude 1:6)
Those who do not love Him He has created a place for that they will never escape from, unquenchable fire, eternal pain and hopelessness, where His wrath will be poured out upon human beings and cast out angels with a fierce anger that cannot be imagined.
If we who have been saved by His grace through faith step out of line, willfully sin of our own accord, we will be punished, sometimes severely.
He allows some who serve Him in love to live a life racked with pain, with grief and sorrow, testifying of His everlasting love while rarely seeing any fruits whatsoever of their work for Him, living lives of frustration and solitude.
And we hear this, “If you love me, obey me.”
Whether you want to admit this truth to yourself or not is up to you, but we do not love everything the Creator of all reality does or allows.
Take a very close look at these words by one who understands these truths fully today, and recall, until the whirlwind appeared and the Almighty began to speak, he did not yet fully understand them either.
“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:” (Job 13:15a)
Obedience in our lives, in the life of every person ever born, cannot occur until the word “Sovereign” is understood by us, and the only One that word is reserved for.
Our love for Him is a choice, and that love can in no way be fully expressed and continued in unless the truths of what is written here is understood by us.
“But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.” (Luke 12:48)
God kills people, He has created a place of eternal suffering for those that despise and deny Him, and each of us has loved ones, family and friends, that will know His wrath for all eternity.
Yes, we have a choice, and the choice to love Him without measure must be made with the full knowledge that He does all that He pleases to do, and our love must agree with all His choices.
What you have received here is the knowledge of truth, today you must decide what you are going to do with it, true love for Him will accept it, infatuation will attempt to deny these truths.
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Rev. 4:11)
