His Spirit Poured Out

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.” (Joel 2:28-29)

I see and hear a lot of people online professing these words lately, many of them, most I would say, are good people, but deceived and they do not know it. Every dream apparently has some “end-time” meaning, something to do with a future event, and they are nearly always portrayed as imminent and positively the truth.

I feel sorry for these people in a way, being deceived and not able to realize it, there are no more prophetic events to occur before the rapture of the church spoken of in 1 Thessalonians, I have read of those that this verse is speaking about though, and nearly every one of them are in the middle eastern countries, they are the children of Abraham, and they are dreaming about Jesus. You can read about them at a place called the Voice of the Martyrs. But I would ask you today to look at the last part of these verses, for I have met these people, in fact, one of them is sitting upstairs in my house right now.

The Spirit of the Lord rests upon my beautiful wife, His Spirit has been poured out on her in these last days just like the verse promises. I have been blessed to watch her grow into a fine woman of God, whose heart reflects the Lord’s in many ways I will never attain to. But I have also seen the fulfillment of this verse in myself, for I am a man consumed, I have become passionate in doing all that I can to expound the Word of God properly, to warn all that will listen, and to be a vessel suitable to proclaim the truths of the Word of God.

I am not alone, the remnant the Lord keeps for Himself is indeed these individuals that He is pouring His Spirit upon in these last days, of this I have no doubt. There is no revival spoken of in the Scriptures before the great and terrible day of the Lord begins, (Joel 2:31) but there is this verse, and it makes perfect sense if you keep your thoughts focused on the Spiritual, for the great falling away must have an inverse.

But I fear we are like Noah, warning those who will perish, like Jeremiah, speaking to those who will soon go into captivity, but we must be like the two angels that were sent into Sodom to retrieve Lot and his family, if necessary we must pull them by the arm where they do not want to go. Not literally of course, but in a figurative way the analogy fits, we must stop considering ourselves and get about the business of preaching the foolishness that is the cross (1 Cor. 1:18) to those who still see it as such.

It is time to come to the realization that we have been crucified with Christ, it is time to stop thinking about self and start doing in earnest what we were sent here to do, glorify God in the highest, and preach the salvation that rests only in Christ to all that will listen, for the days are evil, (Eph. 5:16) and the time is growing very short.

You will know if His Spirit is indeed being poured out upon you, for you will either be consumed, or you will feel constantly as if you should be doing something, even on the days that the world keeps you busy beyond belief. I do not pen any of these words in a conceited way, this is not the path I would have chosen, but now that is has been set before me, I can imagine no other that I would choose, and in my own way, I fear the day it will end. Hopefully that will be the day I go home, but that also is in His capable hands, He has shown Himself to be right enough times that it is difficult to say the least, to not trust Him ever again.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
