“I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.” (Psalm 139:22)
It is impossible for me not to feel a seething anger when I see images of abused animals, when I hear accounts of people who have tortured, maimed or killed small children, the me before Christ called me to Himself comes to the surface, and I want those who do such things to suffer horribly.
If I meet them and they are thirsty, I will give them water, I will pray for them to see the error of their ways and repent of them, calling upon the Lord with a broken and contrite heart, I will love my enemy while still hating him.
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:” (Eze. 33:11a)
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” (Romans 12:19)
That is the only respite I have for my hatred of these wicked people, that they will suffer beyond anything that any one of us can ever imagine.
You will not hear these truths preached or even spoken of in most churches today, today it is love the sinner but hate the sin, and my friends, those two cannot be separated.
You will be held accountable just as much as they will, our sins are forgiven, we have been saved from not only the wrath of God, but from the power of sin in our lives.
In part, I know these people I hate with a vengeance, for I was once one of them, and as I have said before, just as many men of God before me have proclaimed, if you knew who I once was or the thoughts that still enter into my mind at times, you would have nothing to do with me.
“And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1st Cor. 6:11)
The fear of the Lord is a reverential trust in Him and a hatred of evil, but both are lacking greatly amongst those who profess to serve Him. The trust has been replaced by the nearly constant bombardment of the newest circumstance we are to be afraid of, and that hatred of evil is now an enablement, a new “love,” which if you do not adhere to, those in authority will cause you to fear by removing either your possessions, your finances, or your freedom.
A perfect circle of fear and enablement, forced love or forced obedience.
Hell, the Lake of Fire, eternal damnation in complete and utter hopelessness is where the wicked will spend forever, and in that day we who have submitted our lives to the Almighty will rejoice, for evil will no longer be in our midst. I hate them with a perfect hatred for they are evil, they are my enemies, and so I offer them that drink of water in love, the action of love, but I will rejoice in that day, as all who have been born-again will, when they are cast into eternal torment.
Until then, I suffer the fools who say there is no God, I witness to the brute beasts who find pleasure in causing pain and suffering in others, whose lives are filled with pride, who say that the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ was not sufficient for the salvation of our souls.
I treat them as I am commanded to, I do not let them into my house, I do not bid them godspeed, I treat them as Gentiles. I do not cast His precious pearls before them after the truth has been revealed to me that those are they whom the Lord has fitted for destruction, those that He has given over to a reprobate mind.
The love that many churches are preaching now is not the love the Scriptures speak of, no one is their enemy, none are the wicked, they are only misunderstood people who need to be loved.
No, my friends, there are evil people in the world and we are to hate the evil. The person and action cannot be separated.
