You have to be willing to give in, give up, let go and accept without questioning the reasons.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20)
Give in to His commandments, His Word, His will, stop trying to live your own life, even attempting to live your life for Him, if you can understand that truth. You must give in to His will for your life, allow the Holy Spirit to direct you, lead you, teach and train you. Learn how to enjoy pleasures without making them selfish pleasures.
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” (2nd Cor. 13:5)
Give up, give up your desires, your wants, the pride that comes with past accomplishment, give up on all those hopes and dreams you had before you fell on your face at the cross, nothing of your past life should be allowed to control the direction of your new life in Christ.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2nd Cor. 5:17)
Let go of your past, let go of your family, friends and acquaintances that despise the One you love, who call you foolish for denying the world and all its offerings. Let go, cast away those inhibitions that cause you to stumble with your words, words of the Living God that you have hid in your heart. Let go of the fear of people, of their harsh words and sideways glances, let go of the embarrassment of His name.
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Phil. 1:21)
Accept everything that the Almighty either allows or brings into your life, ask why if you want to, He understands our anxiousness in certain situations, but do not falter, do not dishonor Him by disobedience to His will in your life. Accept the circumstances, accept the possible consequences to yourself, the pain, the suffering, the trials, accept them with thanksgiving, praising His name for allowing you to serve Him, and for the strength to serve Him for His glory in whatever way He chooses.
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matt. 6:10)
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:42)
These my friends are our sacrifices, as humble as they may seem, as little that we feel them to be adequate, those are our offerings to the Living God.
Give in, give up. Let go and accept His will.
The profitable servant never serves himself, his life is lived for his Master, his King. The heart that deceives is taught how to be sincere, yet never fully until we arrive home.
“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” (Matt. 19:29)
Would you trade all you have been blessed with for one day of fleshly desires? Would you take in trade all this world has to offer for the sincerity of your heart towards Him who gave all for you? Can you count what you have gained since you were hid in Christ in any worldly coin?
The perfect will of God in our lives, that is what we strive for, pray for, seek after every moment of everyday, wanting to please Him who has called us to Himself. Desiring nothing but that He would be glorified in every action, deed or word, even our thoughts in this life.
Waiting on the promises, working while we wait.
Give up my friends, my brothers and sisters in Christ, give up completely with no reservations, no hesitations, trusting fully that your life will be better lived if you allow Him to live it through you.
“Thy will be done.”
At this moment, four of the most important words we could ever speak and mean in our hearts. My life is yours to do with as you please, by the still waters or into the fire, I am yours.
Give up, give it all up, let go.
He will never let go of you.
