These short poorly written letters receive very few views on YouTube, and although I do not keep track of the actual number on the website where they are also placed, I would imagine the views are just as small. I sit to write them ten or more times a week, and I have often wondered, would I put more effort into them if the views were in the tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands for each one?

I ask you this today then, if you know without a doubt that it is God who has called you to the task that you perform, does it matter to you how many in the world notice you?

I bring up these letters for this one reason, thousands of them with only hundreds of views.

How long will you witness to that lost friend before you quit, before you give up on them, or perhaps better yet, come to the realization that the Almighty has not chosen them? “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” (Romans 9:15) How long will you stand behind the pulpit and preach to those in the pews with glazed over eyes, to teach at a Bible study when all questions asked of them are answered only in your ears with the ticking of the clock in the room?

Are we supposed to be able to hear clearly the words of the Holy Spirit in our heart, or does He need to create circumstances in our lives that in essence force us to stop the task we have performed for so long? How many years are we to toil, to continue in what we believe has been set before us by the Lord if we continuously see no fruit?

The common answer is of course, “Even if just one….,” and of course Galatians 6:9 is also brought to mind. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

If you are planting seeds in rocky soil you will never reap a harvest my friends.

Will these letters find a place in the library of heaven? Should it matter to me? Do we need encouragement, or to see the fruit of our labors?

Perhaps one day these letters on YouTube will go, as it is called, viral, the views will grow exponentially overnight. Should that make any difference to me, will it change the way that I see them, will it change the structure of them, will the context and subject matter be modified in an attempt to gain even more views?

No.

I do not preplan any of these letters, my research, so to speak, is the studying of the Word of God, of reading books written by men of God, in contemplating His Word, nothing more, I take no notes, I do not prepare before each one of them any more than this thought, “That He would be glorified.”

I do not know what you have been called to do, I only know this, that if you are positive, if there is no doubt in your mind that it is God Himself who has set that task before you, then, and not until He modifies it, you are to continue in it. “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” (Isaiah 46:10)

We do not need to know where He is leading us, we just need to follow.
