Find The Balance

Do some of it now, finish the rest of it later.

God did not make all of creation instantaneously, He for His own reasons decided to spread it out over six days instead. No one knows why, there are numerous conjectures of course, but the best answer is because that is what He wanted to do.

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:26)

No matter what any of us have a desire to do, none of us can accomplish any task immediately, even our thoughts need to progress, and that takes time.

I bring this topic up for a singular reason, our sanctification, something that some do not seem to be in a hurry, if you will, to see accomplished, regulating that time to when they are glorified, and in that sense, they are simply strolling along the path to heaven.

Others, although not rushing ahead, are in a more hurried gait, if you please, they tire of the evil here, their old sinful nature, the desire to finally be free indeed for them is almost overpowering.

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” (1st Cor. 9:24)

One believes there is time, the other believes there is never enough time. Strolling along or running at top speed, they both have their place, one of them may not attain to all that is possible for them, the other may miss certain items of great importance.

One may be a little too concerned with certain things of this world that must be attended to, the other may, unintentionally, see nearly everything as useless, the pursuit of God being the only valuable thing in their life.

Both have their faults.

Sanctification is a process that can only be accomplished within us by the Holy Spirit, and our desire to be sanctified, is, in the truest sense, a joint venture. And while for some the Lord needs, if I can use that word, to wait upon us, while others attempt to run past Him instead of following where He leads us.

All of us who are hid in Christ are, in some way, guilty of both of these avenues in our lives here, and finding that perfect balance can be all but impossible.

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psalm 27:14)

Okay, I can do that, even though I would rather be doing something for Him right now.

“And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” (Acts 22:16)

Because I’m waiting for you to tell me what to do.

Our sanctification is never done in one step, we are to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, to seek His face, and personally my friends, I do not believe that even after we are glorified that journey will end.

If you are indeed born again and do not feel as if you are “doing enough” for His glory, then do not just jump up and start doing what “feels right” to do. More than likely that will be your heart deceiving you, or even perhaps our adversary whispering in your ear, and works solely for the sake of works will ensue.

If you are moving so fast that you cannot keep track of everything that you are doing, unable to say “no” to your desires or to the requests of others, slow down, or maybe even stop completely for a while.

Our Savior went apart from everyone occasionally, but when He set His face like a flint to go to Jerusalem, there was no stopping Him.

You can’t do it all in one day, but you should not try to either.

 Find the balance.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
