“And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.” (Matt. 14:26)
Just how many spirits had these people seen before, was it a natural occurrence, was it normal in that day? “And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?” (Luke 24:41) Again, another supposed spirit, but this time it was simply eating something that proved to them that it was not.
Why was it not an incredible event to witness someone who was possessed by a devil, why was it seen as a normal, everyday event? And I could be misunderstanding something here, but doesn’t it seem odd, if you will, that there were so many thousands in Israel at the time of Christ that were sick, halt, lame, blind, filed with leprosy and all other manner of illnesses?
I bring these two points of reference together here for contemplation in this area, but it seems, in relation to the seeing of spirits, ghosts if you please, that the people had fallen into superstition, and that superstition had drawn them away from the Almighty, which in turn had led them into all types of sickness, maladies, illnesses and even demon possession. “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.” (Gen. 13:15)
A land of devil worshippers, of Molech and Dagon, of a people that served gods that served them if they sacrificed their children to them. These fallen angels were able to perform what simple mankind calls miracles, and their intent was no different than what the antichrist’s intention will be, what Satan’s intent has always been, to be worshipped.
I firmly believe, and again it is only conjecture on my part, that we are going to be witnessing many events in the near future that cannot be explained away by scientific examination, and the groundwork for that has already been laid. From supposed dreams and visions to unidentifiable flying objects, to bleeding statues and more, the way of our adversary has always been to draw people away from the knowledge of the Living God, and the signs and wonders that will soon appear will do just that. “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Rev. 13:15)
An extremely convincing magic show is about to begin my friends, and do not think that at least for a short period of time you must begin preparing for these approaching days, now is when you must be praying for wisdom, for Spiritual discernment, for a heart that can see the difference between what is good and what is evil. The masses of humanity will be deceived, you must not be.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1st John 4:1)
The occurrences you are already witnessing, can you tell if they are from the Almighty or from Satan, can you discern if these are indeed signs of these last days or deceptions of our adversary? As the days approach of our departure, they will become more and more convincing, and the chaff will fall for them, the wheat, the elect will not, and by showing them the truth you will be hated.
Prepare yourselves to witness what most will call miracles, prepare yourselves to be mocked and ridiculed when you attempt to explain to them that they are not of God.
