Faith Without Seeing

“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Rev. 1:18)

With the advent of cellular phones with built in cameras nearly everything is recorded for our eyes today, but with this technology came the ability to manipulate, if not completely manufacture, those images from scratch, in nearly endless possibilities. In this regard our eyes can be deceived just as easily as our hearts.

“The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)

There were those who walked with and knew the Lord Jesus Christ intimately, they watched Him die, and then they walked with Him again. There was absolutely no doubt, when these people said, “He is risen,” there were no words that could sway them, nothing that anyone could say or do to them could alter this in their hearts, it was a verifiable fact.

This is how strong our faith is to be, no matter what comes into our lives, we are to have the same faith as those that actually saw this happen.

“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (John 20:29)

What can the world do to a person who harbors not one shred of doubt in this, who knows it to be an unquestionable truth, what lie could our adversary place before us, what fears of the flesh could possibly remove this truth from one who has only by faith seen that which many witnessed with their own eyes?

We hide His Word in our hearts, we ask Him to help our unbelief, we read, study and contemplate His Word, for we know faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. But we have not yet seen Him with our eyes.

Moses was hid in the cleft of the rock, He spoke with him.

“And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.” (Exo. 33:11a)

Abraham heard His voice clearly, Paul received what he was taught directly from the Lord Jesus Christ.

We have a Book, and that is to be all we need.

Faith without seeing with our eyes is how we are to live every moment of our lives.

Even if you have witnessed miracles in your life, even if you have experienced things that cannot be explained in any other way than by the hand of God, you and I have yet to look into His face, we have not yet held our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Satan will deceive many who need to see with their own eyes, from the beast that will speak blasphemies to the antichrist who will be mortally wounded, for he is well aware that what we see we tend to believe. And because the Almighty is well aware of this truth, “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” (2nd Thess. 2:11)

If you are one of the elect, you have already witnessed some of those lies, and along with the blatant, ever growing evil on this planet, you may have experienced moments of doubt, moments when you need to see His face for your assurance to not be hindered.

There are hundreds of verses of promise in the Scriptures, they will lead you to the truth of this statement, you do not need to see Him with your eyes to know in your heart that He is risen, to know with all surety and assurance just as fully as those did that walked with Him after He walked out of that tomb.

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1st John 3:2)

The first thing that our adversary did in the garden of Eden is the first thing he will attempt with you, to doubt the truth of all that we have been given to rely upon, His Holy Word. We are to have the same unmitigated faith that those who saw Him did, as those that saw with their own eyes the marks in His hands and feet.

We will see Him soon enough, until then, continue in faith to seek His face.
