Even So

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” (Luke 17:26) Some of the most popular words found on many internet sites today, along with “Please come soon Lord.” There are many people who are more than ready to go home, but I wonder just how many were as willing before all this mess started, were the hearts just as willing and prepared to leave when they were marrying and giving in marriage, when the highly anticipated family vacation was looming closer and closer, when the arrival of family and friends for companionship grew nearer with each passing day. I would hope so, but I am not so sure.

I remember seeing images of nurses praying on the heliports of hospitals just a few short months ago, I saw groups of individuals, some on their knees, some with heads bowed seeking the guidance of the Lord when they thought death and sorrow were imminent, not so much today.

Many like to quote this part of the verse in Luke, seeing in their minds eyes happy people attending and planning for marriages, preparing for all manner of happy festivities, going about their daily lives filled with contentment, and completely skip over the reason for those days. “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Gen. 6:5) They were killing each other with no thought to the consequences of their actions, they performed deeds evil in the sight of the Lord, they were evil, sinful people who had determined that they would choose their own destiny, that God was not worthy of a second thought, they would make their own rules and regulations, they would set up councils and their own laws, subject the people, ostracize and punish those who would not obey, they were evil continuously, and the Lord God, Creator and Sustainer of all that is, spoke these most fearful words, “The end of all flesh is come before me.” (Gen. 6:13) Noah did not smile at these words, he found no pleasure in them, he was a just man who I am sure spoke to the Lord in as much reverence as Abraham did, many times, “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Gen. 18:25) Those who keep repeating “Lord, take us home,” do not realize what they are saying, they do not comprehend Matthew 24:22 “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”

Some of the last words we were given by the Lord were penned by a man who was blessed to see pain and tribulation beyond our comprehension, he did not deter from the path that was chosen for him, but even John in the Book of Revelation wrote, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Rev. 22:20) Even so, even though you have shown me that we will abide with you forever, even though you have allowed me to see the New Jerusalem, adorned so much more than all the cities that have ever existed, you have shown me your wrath, you have shown me the suffering and death of billions, even so.

As in the days of Noah, when the hearts of men were only evil continuously, when men were cruel and evil, when men had decided that God was not in control, they were, not God, when men persecuted their fellow man with no fear whatsoever of even a mild rebuke from the Almighty.

“Wear the mask, or be punished, obey the lockdowns, or be punished, take the vaccine, or be punished, prepare for the new fourth order, the age of man is upon you, obey, or feel the wrath of your new masters. Your God is dead, we rule now, cry all you want to Him, but we rule now, obey, or die.”

The Lord God told Noah it would take him 120 years to build the ark, I do not know if he intervened in the minds of the seven souls that went into the ark with him, or if Noah convinced them, I only know that they obeyed, they worked day and night, they listened to the mocking from all who came to see the strange site, they withstood the persecutions, but they did not deviate from what they were told to do, they worked through the doubt. Billions of people are going to suffer horribly very soon, most of them will die, and they are still marrying and giving in marriage. Even so Lord, come quickly.

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)
