There is a path that men follow that is not necessarily the correct path, most generally it is not even the path that they would choose for themselves, for they are constrained to do that which will enable them to continue in their existence. Our lives are filled with these paths, we must seek gainful employment or we will not have food to eat, a place to sleep and be safe from the elements, we train ourselves to perform tasks, most of them repetitive in nature, so that we may continue in this thing called life, so that we will not be a burden upon others.
Some of course do not adhere to that path, they desire to be fed, and have no inclination of feeding themselves, the kindness others show to them they have come to expect, in fact, in many nations, they have come to demand it. When those items are removed from them, they rebel, it matters not if it is the indigent by choice, or the man who has spent his life in pursuit of the things of life and then lost all, when these things are removed, they don’t just lie down and die, they revolt.
Hundreds of millions across the planet have had their incomed removed from them, and the majority have little to no savings, what they own they truly do not own, for they have become slaves to the lender. (Prov. 22:7) A slave owner does not just let his slaves go free, there is a burden that has been placed upon them, by their own accord they have made themselves bondservants, and their obligations they must fulfill. As is the case of the lost who have made themselves slaves to sin, those who are beholding to others must someday make right the accounts that they have promised to pay. They will lose everything that they have obtained if they do so, if they do not, if they refuse, their must be repercussions, and it is going to affect much more than their credit rating.
Nearly every nation that has ever existed since the time of man has owned slaves, sometimes willing slaves, bondservants they were called, sometimes not so willing, either way, what you owe you must pay, if you will not, you will be prosecuted in one form or another. These tens of millions of individuals who have lost their form of income, better yet would be the truth, that was forcibly taken away from them, still want to live, and they have very little desire to live in alleys and subsist from dumpsters. The kindness of others is not going to take care of this many people, nations cannot place a high enough tax rate on those who are still employed and at the same time keep any semblance of peace to continue indefinitely to provide for all those who are unable to do so for themselves. There are no “just add water” manufacturing or industry business’ that are going to pop up tomorrow. In other words my friends, the entire system has failed and is preparing to collapse, the love of money (1 Tim. 6:10) has finally bankrupted the planet.
The hopes and dreams that the politicians of the world are promising are hollow, and they know it, far better than this simple writer of letters does, but the born-again believers have one thing they do not, a continuing hope. War is coming, in one form or another, it is inevitable, the path that the world of man is on is not sustainable any longer, we are coming upon a fork in the road and a decision must be made. There is one thing that all of them do not yet know, in fact, it is impossible for them to see it, (1 Cor. 2:14) the Lord God still rules the lives of men. (Dan. 4:17)
He is going to insert his influence very soon, He is already showing those signs to all who will but look, every child of His should be able to see this quite clearly. We have reached the “end game,” as it is called, man’s ways have once again been shown to be what they have always been apart from God, a complete and total failure. Our part in all this? Continue to serve, fervently, warn all who will listen, show them the only door available to them, Jesus Christ, that will lead to safety, not necessarily of the body, but promised to the eternal soul of every man who will heed the call.
Prepare yourselves, but do not stop serving, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” (Rev. 22:11) What you have been called to do, continue doing until you are led by the Holy Spirit to do otherwise, this is our rightful duty, and the lost will see it and glorify God in the day of their visitation. (1 Peter 2:12)
