Courage to resist, patience to endure, these are part of what we need to pray for today not only for ourselves, but for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
There is only one prayer that we offer for those that are still lost, that they would heed the call of Christ when, and if, He calls them. “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14) Until that happens, and they receive Him as Lord, no other prayer will avail them, they are the wicked and the wrath of God abides on them. (John 3:36)
The days are growing evil, confusion, especially concerning the biological areas, will abound, and it is not only this area, but in all that will be appearing that we will need patience to endure. Satan is the author of confusion, not the Lord, (1 Cor. 14:33) and through the information that the main media sites offer is how he spreads that confusion, and the more a story is spread, the more the lies, the confusion is believed.
I do not believe that enough Christians pray for Spiritual discernment, I think that the majority of them are more concerned with their own walk with the Lord, instead of accepting the assurance of their salvation and heading off onto the battlefield, as it were, they spend the majority of their time trying to be “good Christians,” attempting to control their lives instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to do so. Their days are spent, for the most part, on self-improvement, while attempting to call it a search for righteousness, their eyes are turned inward, and the extent of their service to others is no more than an offering of money in the plate each Sunday morning, or an emotion towards those that are hurting, their patience to endure is based solely on their own experiences and those emotions. “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” (Heb. 13:3)
The courage that they are to possess falters simply at the news of the day, it does not even need to touch them in any other way, the courage they believe they have to resist is shown only by their reaction to that news. Without courage, there is only one other emotion present, fear, you may call it anxiety, a trepidation, a feeling of malaise, but it is nothing less than a lack of trust in the Lord.
I believe that far too many believers wait around, as it were, for the Lord to give them this courage and patience, for Him to shower these blessings upon them, that simply be some magic formula they will awake one day and have the ability to be courageous, that they will have this patience we speak of. A commandment from the Lord is something that we are to do, it matters not how we “feel” about it, it is non-negotiable and is to be obeyed. I could be wrong, but at this moment I cannot think of any suggestions from the Almighty, we are told how to live, and we are to be obedient to His will.
Courage is not the lack of fear, but the ability to function in it, if a person is afraid of snakes, the best way to cure that fear is by holding non-poisonous snakes, but Satan knows this, and so the coddled society, the enabled and all-inclusive society needed to be set in place. In the worlds mind fear should not have to be faced. And I believe that if you have an internet connection, a television, or any other device that connects you to the world, it is quite easily seen that patience is no longer an objective.
You cannot resist without courage, and you must face your fears head on to receive that courage, patience will not arrive unless you are set in a place where it can be tried, and my friends, you could not ask for a better time for both of these attributes to be put to the test than the days we find ourselves in.
