Conjecture is that which we employ towards a particular subject matter that we do not have all the facts for, it’s a fancy word for guessing. It finds its place in nearly every area of the life of mankind, and most generally the widely accepted guess is the one that people believe, which is another way of saying, “I don’t know, but that sounds right.”
This type of thought has no place in the studying of the Word of God, nor does it ever need to be for 1 Peter 1:20 stands as truth, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” Contrary to what many believe, this does not mean that what one person says the Scriptures mean should be taken as truth, but that for each Scripture there is at least one, and usually more than one verse that will verify the accuracy of each verse, thereby making the entire Word of God cohesive, inerrant and accountable as truth within itself. It is not just a Book of miracles, but a miraculous Book.
I do not know as of today, and I must phrase it that way, for it seems as if a new one is printed quite often, just how many different Bibles, if we may call them that, there are now. Each one stating that they are the correct interpretation of what God meant, but most of them are nothing more than conjecture, and many of them are initiated by our adversary. To twist the Word of God has always been one of his main focal points, and he is very good at it. And it becomes much easier when few question the authenticity of anything these days, most in positions of power and authority are listened to not because they have an indisputable track record of knowledgeable information based on factual evidence, but only because they have attained to those positions. Advertising agencies learned this trick many decades ago.
Most of these so-called Bibles are based in large part on conjecture, the opinions of those who are translating them, and as such these individuals wield great power over the masses of humanity in this area, for many are easily deceived. Such is how every religious organization has begun and continues to thrive, at their foundation, whether they know it for a fact or are blinded to the truth, is our adversary, it is he who has if not started them, enables them to thrive. These books are a lie, he is the father of lies, (John 8:44) and as previously stated, most people in this area are easily deceived. Put on a robe or other attire that sets them apart from the congregation, repeat the words written in the book with fervency, emphatically, and offer some promises along with a healthy dollop of fear, and ta-da-da, you have yourself a church.
“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” (Eccl. 3:11) And “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)
These are just two verses that pronounce the truth that everyone on this planet has some form of religious association, whether it be exhibited in public, so to speak, or held within them and kept from others, everyone believes something related to what we call faith. “If you can’t beat them, make them believe you have joined them,” is Satan’s motto in this area, and he has done an excellent job of fulfilling that task.
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) Do you know the truth, or are you being deceived? When I say the Word of God, when I am referencing a particular Bible, it is always the King James Bible, not the NIV, the New KJV, but the 1611 King James Bible with all the “thee’s and thou’s” that seem to scare people off. If you do not have one in your possession today, go get one tomorrow, do not put it off. Compare it to whatever “version” you have been accustomed to, search them both diligently, and pray as you do so. Pray that the Most High that gave us His Word would show you the truth from His Word, and that you would not be fooled by those “Bibles” that are nothing more than conjecture.
