Christ First

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1st Cor. 2:9)

How many can hold a desire to be in the Kingdom of the Almighty without witnessing the evil and horrors of this present earth, and how many can continue in the work set before us in the midst of this sinful place?

Many seem to want nothing more than to escape, topics about the Rapture abound on nearly every social media site, not for the sake of being in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ or those things that the heart of man cannot imagine, but because the approaching days frighten them, even when those events are no closer than their computer monitor or television screen. Can one grow weary in the work if those works are never attempted, or at best, only done for the security of one’s own mind?

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1st Thess. 4:18)

We all need comfort and encouragement at times, to be reminded not to fear, but it can be difficult for some, especially those who not only search out intentionally, for their own viewing curiosity one might say, the evils that are so prevalent today, but also listen to those content creators who first reveal those wicked ones who are performing those evil deeds, and then at the end of their presentation inform their viewers of the peace that passes all understanding they are to have within themselves.

“For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” (Eph. 5:12)

Apparently, many of those who create that type of content, myself included at times, have forgotten that the means do not always justify the ends. Revealing how wickedly the wicked are behaving first, and then, with only moments usually left in their presentations, revealing the way out, the way of escape, or the reason we are not to fear.

It is a tried and tested formula that brings the viewers in, increases the subscriptions to their website or social media platform, but rarely if ever begins with what our eyes have not yet seen or what our ears have not yet heard, it does not start with “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matt. 4:17) Or with “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32)

They do not begin with the truths of the knowledge that our hope cannot be shattered by anything in this evil world, that our faith is not hindered in any way by the approaching darkness, but instead begin their presentations with that darkness, with the evil deeds of evil men, of the sins of the wicked. They draw these people in with fear, with the revealed sins of this world, not with the oracles and truths of the Almighty.

Pay attention to some of those channels you watch that profess to serve the Lord and you will see the truth of what has been written here today in this short letter to you, Christ is not revealed first and foremost, the wickedness of the world is.

And so, one must honestly contemplate this question, those people that view these videos, are they more interested in being taught how to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, or in how wickedly the wicked have been behaving lately?

I believe that some of those content creators do not realize the trap they have fallen into.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2nd Tim. 3:13)

One can be deceived without leaving the path to that strait gate my friends, one can stare to the left or right while still moving forward, and that is what is happening to many.

The Lord Jesus Christ first, and when necessary, and then only briefly, the wickedness of this world, is the best offering.
