I would ask you to think for a moment about the strongest man alive today, about the person who has a logical, deductive reasoning mind that none can be compared to, about the man who, no matter what has been placed before him to accomplish, can do so, and that with seemingly no effort whatsoever.
“For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.” (Isaiah 53:2)
No one can completely comprehend what it was like for the Lord Jesus Christ to walk amongst us in human form, not one of us, no matter what we can do, how Spiritually discerning we are, how Scripturally mature, can even begin to imagine how He thought while He was here.
“For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.” (Matt. 7:29)
When He said that we could not make ourselves taller even if we wanted to, He could. When He spoke about casting mountains or trees into the ocean, He could. Walking on water was no more difficult for our Lord than walking on dry land was, He could think Himself somewhere and be there, He could have easily walked around in the same glowing form that He appeared in on what we call the Mount of Transfiguration all the time, and everyone would have fallen prostrate on their faces when He arrived.
He didn’t need to call twelve legions of angels; He created the angels.
“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” (Col. 1:16)
The strongest, the fastest, the smartest, the perfect one, who was and is and will always be those things.
Think of it this way if it helps, when you are driving your vehicle down the highway at speed, how much thought do you give to the ant that may be crossing the road?
The Lord Jesus Christ at any time could have done anything that He wanted to do, before He came down to us and while He was here, we cannot think of anything that He cannot do, and we cannot even begin to comprehend all that He can do.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20)
I do not believe that any of us who have been called and chosen by the Almighty can begin to understand how much we are loved, no more than we can comprehend the fierce wrath of the Living God upon those who will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. That love is beyond our comprehension.
Before the flood in Noah’s time they neglected that love, Israel forgot about it, and now their house is left to them desolate, and far too many today, born-again, crucified with Christ, have taken Him for granted, and the love He offers us.
Do you realize that the Most High could make you love Him if He wanted to?
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)
But He doesn’t, He simply puts it like this, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
The lost found, turned into servants, children of the Living God, heirs to the Kingdom of heaven by grace through faith, called and chosen, yet serving by their own free will.
Anything He wants to do, He can do, yet He chooses to let us make our own choices.
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)
Knowing these two truths, these two indisputable facts, that God is Sovereign over all creation, that He can do anything He wants to do, whenever and for whatever reason He chooses to, and that He has given us free will to choose the path of our own lives, in fact our own eternal place, what manner of people should we be?
“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jer. 31:3)
All those in the flood, Israel, His beloved Son, the Tribulation days that are approaching, every possible way that He could He has revealed His love to us, and we have rejected Him.
The Almighty can do anything He desires to do, and in many respects, He has allowed us to do the same.
Choose wisely.
