Bright Lights

On the same block where flowers grow children are abused, whether families gather together rejoicing, the thief plans his next escapade. Where husbands and wives kneel down in prayer together to seek the face of the Almighty and His will for their lives, down the street curtains and locked doors hide the porn addict.

“Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matt. 13:30)

We who are the light live in a land of darkness, we go out into it every day, our light is not dimmed nor is it left at home, without it we would be as they are, living lives in the pursuit of temporary happiness, and always for personal pleasure.

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Prov. 4:18)

Nearly every news account these days is meant to cause divisions, to force people to pick a side, it is one of the things our adversary does best, and it is the path that will lead to society’s destruction. And there seems to be a serious problem in this area with what we will call the Evangelical community, though in the inverse, a “why can’t we all just get along” mentality, an “agree to disagree” mindset, one that has set “do not judge, no matter what” as the new “Golden rule.”

It is either the inability to discern the truths of the Scriptures, a fear of seeming judgmental, or a desire to never offend others. And so, hand in hand nearly every church now marches to the same drum beat, but it is not the Word of God they march to.

“And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matt. 22:39)

Whether they are decent folks or wife beaters, honest, caring people or the blatant sinner, love is the answer today. Much of the wheat my friends, if that is truly what they are, has no problem whatsoever living among the tares, everyone is to be accepted as they are, invite them to church and they are sure to be saved.

I fear the following verse has gone by the wayside.

“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24)

And one would expect it to when many who profess to serve the Almighty fear reprisals because those who stand behind the pulpit do not preach on 2nd John 1:10.

“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:”

When all that is preached is love and tolerance, judging in any form is seen not just as disrespectful, but as an actual sin.

“Only God is able to judge” they will say, and so as the world and all its sins are invited to sit in the pews, the message is not just watered down, but altered until it is no longer recognizable as the truths of the Scriptures. We are told to get along with everyone, to never judge, to be polite to all we meet, to never be so rude as to call anyone a sinner on the way to eternal damnation.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (2nd Cor. 6:14)

One big happy consortium of churches all preaching the same thing, God is love, right?

Contentious is what they will call you if you do not go along with their ideologies, mean spirited, uncaring, unloving. To many these days my friends there is no such thing as judging with righteous judgment, using the truths of the Word of God and calling out the evil is frowned upon in many churches today, and if you do so, you will be judged by them.

With that form of judgment they have no problems.

“Just because that church does not believe the same thing we do does not mean they are hypocrites.” You are the hypocrite if you say, “Thus saith the lord.”

There are some lights my friends that are so bright they cannot be allowed to remain in some churches today, someone might think those inside are not loving.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
