Blank Stares

When my beautiful wife mentions something from the Scriptures at her place of work in general conversations, the room goes silent.

And you should be aware of this also, as far as I know, everyone there attends one of the churches in town on a regular basis.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1st Cor. 1:18)

Or

“For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:26)

Which verse shall we apply to those in her place of employment? In all reality, this verse applies to both those mentioned in the previous two verses.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” (Psalm 14:1)

When we speak of the Scriptures, of Christ to others, those words must be in context within the subject matter of the discussion currently being spoken of. If the topic is about the high price of food, mentioning that the marriage bed is undefiled would necessitate those blank stares. But if it is about someone that recently died, as long as discretion is remembered, Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” could go a long way towards opening the Word of God to them.

Sometimes people will listen, most generally when it is not made to be a personal issue for them at the beginning, but since we are ambassadors of the Kingdom of heaven who have a personal relationship to the Lord of all creation, sooner or later the topic must become personal to them.

The word “They” must be replaced with the word “You.”

Always remember, if they are not saved, everything that you will say to them will in one fashion or another reveal to them that everything they have believed about the Spiritual realm has been a lie. And most people do not care to listen to someone speak these truths to them. Done incorrectly, done without praying while you are speaking may cause Galatians 4:16 to become a reality in your life.

“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”

There is another point that must be observed by you as you open the Word of God to them, they need to hear that they are sinners, that today the wrath of God abides on them.

Most at this point will take offense with you, for in their minds the laws of man, even the moral laws of mankind have not been broken by them, at least not those that they would consider heinous. They believe they are good people; they believe that in the entire scheme of things the scales will fall to their favor, more good than bad deserves heaven in their minds.

It is not necessary to point to even one sin in their life, Romans 3:23 is enough of the truth for them to realize the error of their thoughts.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

There is one other item that will usually cause them, if they have attended to your words up to this point, to leave your presence. You must speak to them about death. And that is one subject my friends that the unrepentant soul will avoid at nearly every cost.

They may say they know they are going to die; they may even attempt to shrug it off, but more than anything else in this world, they want to stay alive.

Are you aware of this particular truth? You are not a body with a spirit inside, you are a spirit with a body.

No one ever truly dies, every person ever born is still alive.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Gen. 2:7)

Most of them will do what happens most of the time at my lovely wife’s place of employment, blank stares and then back to work. But sometimes they will listen, and occasionally one will hear, and heed the call.

You did.

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)

Offer the same to them that you were blessed to receive.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
