For the majority of people, it is the very-late evening hours, or the very early morning, not when the sun rises high in the sky, when the day is well started, then they diminish, never truly leaving, but much easier, as it were, to control.
In the kingdom of the Lord God, there is no darkness, there is light, for in the light sin can find no place. The lust of our flesh, our eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16) are sins against God when we entertain them of our own free will, when we not only invite them into our presence, as it were, but when we pursue them of our own choice, willingly. “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” (James 1:15) Death is of course separation from the grace and mercy of God, a state that all unrepentant sinners reside in for the entirety of their existence, they care not what the Most High thinks of them, at best they hide from their neighbors, as it were, the sins that cover their existence.
The continuous forced lockdowns have emboldened many I am sure, for when it is dark, when the curtains are closed, when we are alone and no one is watching, we become emboldened, we resist very little when we are not being watched. Our adversary misses very little, “And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23) What is occurring at this time is no accident, people are congregational, most not only enjoy the company of others, but will seek it out, we are, as it were, a willing community, and so the imposed lockdowns, the closing of every sort of meeting place is not done haphazardly, and is definitely not being done for the reasons given us, if you separate them, they will seek other venues.
Sin hides, shame, personal shame, is what keeps it at bay, even the lost know this, but shame is by some being refuted, it is being brought into the open, even flaunted, and the very small part of the world of men that are accepting it just happen to be the same ones that not only control the media, but the ones that make the laws. None of this is by accident, all has been planned, when the Lord God removes His hand from a place, His hand of mercy, Satan wastes no time moving in, and he always has everything prepared to enact his plan.
It is amazing to me, behind locked doors with the curtains closed, with no one watching, is the place where we feel at ease with our sins, we are free to exhibit our passions and lusts in private, that which many, if not most, would not dare to do in public, in the light. My lovely wife made a terrible mistake once when conversing with some lost souls about this subject, through only lack of knowledge in her, with no malice or intent behind her words, she said to them, “What we do in the privacy of our own houses is our own business.” True, if you live in the world, true if you are not submitting to the Holy Spirit, if your mind is not being transformed, (Romans 12:2) if you do not find yourself accountable to the Most High at all times.
Herein is the path of the heathen, “Do as thou wilt, as long as it does not adversely affect anyone else.” Why am I no longer addicted to pornography, why do the sports stars that my wife enjoys watching on the television no longer draw her lust, is it because we can express ourselves with each other, is it because it would be wrong to continue in these paths, and see each other as just the vehicle to release and express our lusts, or is it because we love each other? True in part, but the real truth is in the fact that we love our Savior more than we love the desires, more than the momentary expression of the flesh, more than we love each other.
This strain of the flu is not just an excellent opportunity, nothing happens by chance or accident in the creation of the Most High, but no matter its beginnings, it is the beginning of the path of forced obedience, and there is no better way to start on this path than to separate the herd, keep them locked down, do not let them congregate, for in their solitude they will seek out other means of expressions, behind closed curtains, where no one is watching.
Those of you who are reading this letter that are saved know full well that the Lord is always watching, “Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.” (Luke 12:3) The question for you then would be this, are you not doing the same that the lost are doing because you are fearful of the punishment from God, or because you love Him? The last fruit of the Spirit mentioned is self-control, (Gal. 5:22-23) and is perhaps the slowest growing fruit on the vine, and it must be tended most diligently when we are alone, when it is dark, and the curtains are closed.
