Be That Person

“I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.” (Job 23:4)

Perhaps it’s just not recorded for us, but have you noticed that those that sat with Job while he presented his arguments and scraped his sores with a broken piece of pottery did not offer him any salve, they contacted no physicians to come and help him with his pain?

Perhaps my memory again fails me here, or maybe again it was not written down for us, but the rich man was the only one offering crumbs to Lazarus, no one stopped to help him with his sores either.

When there is an opportunity for true compassion and it is not acted upon, then two things occur, the one who is suffering receives no compassion and the one who has the opportunity to offer it is seen not only as uncaring, but self-centered.

My adoring wife was never shown compassion in her younger years, no hugs, no love, no one to hold her in her pain and suffering, and so I have and continue to try what I can to help her in this area, and she has grown exponentially.

But it took love, she needed to know that someone actually loves her.

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” (1st Cor. 13:2)

Charity is love, it is never offered with platitudes, it is always offered freely without the hope of receiving anything in return.

I am quite sure that you have noticed over the last few years that love has become a foreign item, that it is rare to see anymore and even rarer is it offered. When one stops loving their neighbor there is no one left to love but themselves, hence the truth of these final days we find ourselves in.

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,” (2nd Tim. 3:2)

If you are searching for a sign of the end days my friends, you will not find one that reveals it more than that.

Because of this truth the great falling away is occurring, because of that lack of love the days are growing shorter, and mankind is being prepared for incredible suffering. But because of these days the opportunities to show love to others abounds.

Nearly everyone is living in some form of fear, save for those who honestly serve the Lord Jesus Christ, nearly all are overly concerned with self, while we have died to self.

Compassion does not reside in our old nature, it is a gift from God and is meant to be offered to others, always in the hope that they too will call upon Him for the salvation of their soul.

“And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matt. 22:39)

Wars and rumors of wars, lovers of self instead of God, brother against brother. Yes, they are in fear, you are not to be, you have the truth of eternal peace, you know the Prince of Peace, you know that to die is gain.

The world wants them in fear, it wants them to depend on those who are bringing the fear, and unless they hear the truth, that there is One who loves them and always will, the only compassion they will receive will be a false one, one that demands obedience or it will not be given.

Listen with the ears of the heart of flesh that He has blessed you with, find a way to move the conversation to the Lord Jesus Christ, you may not be the first one to have planted that seed in their stoney heart.

I firmly believe that all those who will be left behind when we are removed will have heard the truth at least once from one who had enough compassion to take the time and speak to them in their hour of need. Be that person, love your neighbor, let them know of the love you have received.

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)
