Bad News

Bad news travels fast, what we who are ambassadors of the Kingdom of the Most High have to offer is good news, the good news of the Gospels. The problem is, which may be a blessing in these days, is that the only people that seem to want to hear the good news are the ones who are personally affected by the bad news.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

I heard recently of an establishment that was closing one hundred of their locations, but what the content creator failed to mention was that business has over six thousand locations. This is just one instance of hundreds of these types of accounts, and not to diminish in any way those that are now without employment, this is how the world we live in has decided information to be spread.

Bad news garners viewers as well as advertising money, and, as it is said, if you follow the money, you will find the cause.

But we know the truth.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1st Tim. 6:10)

When people are hurting, when they are desperate and can find little hope in the situation, and please do not understand this in the wrong way, but the truths of the Scriptures are not going to pay their bills and put food on the table.

“But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” (Mark 10:30)

That verse my friends should never be used as a means to attempt to bring someone to the knowledge of the saving grace of the Almighty through the Lord Jesus Christ, leave it for the prosperity false preachers. We offer those that are hurting unconditional love from our Father in heaven, to those that repent we offer the truth of Psalm 16:11.

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Along with the promise of 2 Timothy 3:12.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

Did you find a large check in the mail the day after you were saved? Did all your problems simply disappear, the hardships were gone, the sky opened up and rays of sunshine have been on your face since that blessed moment?

Probably not.

Despair, if not on your doorstep, then approaching is the path our adversary has determined for mankind in what little time he has left before he is chained in the pit for one thousand years, and despair can only be conquered by two things, hope and love.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

I was in despair when He called me, as well as my wonderful wife was in her own right, as well as many of you were, and so you know how to talk to these people that are in it today. Please try to understand this as intended, but their bad news is good news to us.

If you have the opportunity to grieve with them, you have been blessed with the possibility of rejoicing with them as well, and perhaps for all eternity.

I have been poor, by many standards, and have lived in an area where the extremely wealthy lived, and their desire for Christ was basically nonexistent. But I have been blessed to speak to people about our Savior who had no place left to turn, whose hope was basically gone. Some of those, not all, but some I can now call my brothers and sisters in Christ.

“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Prov. 17:17)

There’s a lot of bad things going on out there right now, there are a lot of people that are at or nearing what they might consider the end of their rope. You know how to tie a knot in it so they can continue to hold on, and you know the One that can pull them out of that despair.

Offer them only what the Scriptures promise, let the Holy Spirit take it from there.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
