“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Prov. 29:2)
We should expect those who deny the Sovereignty of God to act in a manner that does not glorify Him, in ways that are self-serving and oppressing. It should not come as a surprise to us that their supposed concern for the people under their authority is only feigned.
Those in the highest positions of power on this planet are not coerced by the protests of the masses, the populace is not their main concern, the objective is to attain power and then remain in power for as long as possible.
Satan is the god of this world, he is the only one that rules, under of course the authority of the Most High, those that serve themselves in these areas actually serve his will. They are deceived, most of the time I believe unwittingly, pride is their driving force, and pride may seem to serve self, but when that position of power is attained, it serves our adversary.
I cannot say for sure, but it seems logical that there would be a few men at what we would call the very top of these authoritative positions that actually do know who they serve, they know that he who is the ruler of this present darkness is their master, and they have been offered great promises to continue in obedience to him. It does little good to be in charge if there are no rewards for that position. “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (1 John 2:16)
These are their rewards, and in the greatest sense of the word, they have attained the world. They do not care if it is only for a short period of time, like a sports team, all effort is given to the championship, even when they know it is fleeting. Is their intent evil? Are they all as Stalin, Hitler, or any other despot that has arrived on the scene who wanted complete and total control no matter the cost to others, or do they actually believe they are performing what is best for all?
Everything written here so far is a moot point, totally inconsequential to the foundation, which is “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” (Prov. 16:9) Every person in a position of authority is placed there by the Almighty, and so if evil men are ruling, it is because God has placed evil men in those positions. This should not surprise us either, the Scriptures are full of this truth, but there is always one common denominator, when those evil men rise to power, it is because the people of God have abandoned Him for other gods.
That is where we are today, that is why it is called the apostacy, the falling away. It has only happened once before in all of mankind’s history, and it is why the Lord Jesus Christ said, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” (Luke 17:26) The Lord has been merciful for thousands of years now,
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 136:1)
but a time has been appointed for His wrath, and His wrath will indeed come upon all the children of men.
These individuals in positions of power have been put there by God to serve His purpose, His purpose through them will be accomplished. The Holy Spirit has been placed within all who have been crucified with Christ, also for His purpose, and in one sense these two actions are the same, that the name of the Most High would be exalted above the heavens. Nimrod was placed by God as ruler over all the people in his day, as was Nebuchadnezzar, as the Roman rulers over the people in the days of Christ. God is always in complete control, there has never been a time, nor will there ever be a time when the Almighty has been less than what He is, completely Sovereign over all of His creation.
Expect the evil of these days to grow exponentially, do not imagine that this world is going to go back to what it was, Satan will not give up anything he is allowed to do any more than those in power and authority over mankind today would. What is approaching cannot and will not be stopped, warn all who will listen, prepare your heart to meet God.
