Assurance of Salvation

There is a calm assurance that we as born-again believers have, the cares and woes of this world hold no sway over us, religious organizations that demand works as a way to maintain our salvation are foolishness to our ears, as well as the large edifices they have erected to do to our eyes.

We are neither impressed by or attached to anything in this world, for our citizenship is not of this earth, this is not our home.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb. 11:1)

Faith is what allows us to believe the promises of the Word of God, faith that does not need to be seen, heard or felt, save for the truths in the Scriptures.

The heart is deceitful and the mind wants logical interpretation, that is why faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is almost impossible to express to someone, it is known as a fact, revealed only to those who have been born-again, but faith, that assurance, must be tested.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” (2nd Cor. 13:5)

We know this fact, we are compelled by it, driven by it, consumed with Him who first loved us, and can find no place of refuge outside of Him. We may lose our way at times, we may go astray, a sheep lost for a short time, but fear does not consume us, for either our Lord will come looking for us or, as the prodigal son did, we will “come to ourself” and find our way home, and our Father waiting with open arms to meet us.

We can no more lose our assurance than we can our salvation, my friends.

“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” (Deut. 31:8)

We are hid in Christ, we are always safe in His hands, not because of our efforts to remain there, but because He has promised, and our assurance rests upon His promises.

This is what those who believe they can lose or give up the free gift of salvation refuse to accept, it is Christ the promises rest in, not us, it is His faithfulness, not ours, that guarantees that promise of eternal salvation. They refuse to accept the truth that the Lord Jesus Christ died for all sins, past, present and future. They will not believe the promises.

“Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” (Isaiah 49:16)

Your name, if you have been crucified with Christ, is written in His hand, it is written in the Book of Life, you have become the righteousness of God in Christ, and He will not divide Himself, nor soil His Holy name by denying that which He has chosen for Himself.

If you have not been chastised, if you are not carrying your cross, if you have not been born-again, you are none of His. If you have, then you will never not be one of His.

Do not let an action of sin in your life persuade you differently.

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1st John 1:8)

Do not let a temptation that has overtaken you, the foolish words of the religious organizations based in works, your deceitful heart or any other thing in this world tempt you to believe otherwise, if you have indeed truly been born-again, you will enter into His Kingdom and reside there forever.

The assurance of faith cannot be revealed with human words, only the Holy Spirit can explain it, and He only does so to those whom the Almighty has chosen for Himself.

We do not attempt to explain salvation to the lost, we reveal what the Word of God says, the Holy Spirit takes it from there.

Do not trust your feelings my friends, trust in His promises, for He who has promised is faithful.

There are several items I would ask you to consider before you click on the Donate button.

1.    Please pray carefully about donating; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2nd Cor. 9:7)

2.    Your first responsibility is to the Lord; “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase”: (Prov. 3:9)

3.    You must consider your family after your first responsibility; “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1st Tim. 5:8)

4.    If you determine that you have been blessed by this ministry and decide to donate, please know this, your donations will be accepted with great thanks, and all the glory will go to God.
