A similitude of contentment and a form of supposed security does not lead to a happy, fulfilling life, it leads to servitude.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:16)
Make sure their education is single focused, not broad and expandable, memorization skills, not deductive reasoning skills. Offer them employment fields that will supply most of their needs and some of their wants, as long as they will remain in the bondage of debt for the entirety of their lives. Allow them access on their viewing portals to almost anything they can possibly think of, give them causes they can attach themselves to, create not only the possibility of association, but of competition.
Create continual strife, the hint of fear of the future, offer them non-stop desires, and you will create slaves.
“And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.” (Luke 4:6)
And our adversary does, every day.
More is what we want. To hold onto with a firm grasp that which we have is what we want. All this and more is offered to everyone on this planet every single day, and everyone who is not hid in Christ lives in that pit for the entirety of their lives.
“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2nd Tim. 3:7)
What I sought for once I now have, what I have is not enough, and when I attain that which I seek, I will crave more.
Slaves who do not even realize that they are slaves, and will not accept that truth when these truths are revealed to them, for what else is there in life? What more is there than searching and striving for more, whether it be needs or wants?
There is no such thing as contentment for the unrepentant my friends, it does not exist, and it never has.
If you have been born again, you have one singular focus in this life, in regard to this letter, one main purpose that requires focused sight, deductive reasoning skills and servitude.
“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.” (Psalm27:8)
But you will never be fully and completely content because you will never in this life or the eternal life to come fully find Him.
I can think of no greater pursuit for those whose desire is to know Christ. But that does not mean our adversary is going to let you go so easily, in fact, he will exponentially increase his efforts. Not in the hope of your return to his wiles, that is not possible, but in keeping you unprofitable for Him whom you have trusted with your soul. And the Almighty may allow him much leeway in this.
“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:” (2nd Tim. 2:12)
We were all trained up from our youth to be obedient to the will of this world, to the desires of our flesh, to not think, but to obey, whether it be towards the way of this world or the desires of our flesh. The Holy Spirit is not going to remove any of this from your life, He is not going to pick up your cross and place it on your back.
You must do that.
The Lord Jesus Christ removed your burden of sin at the cross, your cross awaits you. His yoke is lite, but it is still a yoke, and like that cross of yours, you must decide to place His yoke upon you.
They do not realize they are trapped; you should be able to recognize that by now.
Are you sure you are free?
