“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matt. 6:34)
According to the latest newscast, I am to be concerned with troops being amassed on certain nation’s borders, I am to be concerned by some who say the world’s economy is about to crash, while others say everything is fine.
According to certain individuals there is a major shift in the climate that is going to drastically modify mankind’s existence in just the next few years, others reveal historical data that this is the normal course of the earth.
My friends, my brothers and sisters in Christ, I got off the roller coaster many years ago, I listen to the world occasionally, but I spend little time hearing them.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28) According to some, the Rapture was supposed to happen in April of this year, to others it was July, the signs they tell me are sure, “Prepare to meet the Lord!” “Oh, Jesus, come back soon!” I have met Him, I met Him at an empty cross, I saw the tomb was empty, I found Him, He found me, I follow Him.
According to the world, I am wasting my time. “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” (1st Cor. 1:18)
According to the Word of God, there are rewards awaiting me, pleasures forevermore, joy in His presence. But here, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2nd Tim. 3:12) “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (1st Cor. 15:19)
I already know there is going to be a Rapture and I really do not care when it happens, I do not care if I die before it does, in either case, I know where I am going. What I do care about is if I have been found in this life and my humble service to the Almighty as pleasing in His eyes, if these letters glorify Him, if the videos do the same, if I have been a profitable servant.
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” (1st Cor. 9:24)
According to the world, not only am I on the wrong path, I’m not even in the race, I am not using the majority of my time to accumulate its riches, I am not seeking for self-gratification, for vainglory, I am not concerned enough with wars and rumors of wars, of impending doom.
According to some I do not spend enough time searching for the next sign of the coming days of Jacob’s Troubles or on the Rapture, or to some, the lack thereof and the necessity of the saints to go through those days.
Men of God sent by God to bring the message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ do not fit in many places today, those who have been sent to correct, reprove or rebuke are frowned upon not only by the world, but by many who profess to know Him personally.
“Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.” (John 21:22)
I do not get caught up in the moment, and neither should you.
If you are blessed to be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord, well and good, if He decides to take your life before that moment, so be it. My friends, do not follow the crowd, let the world go along its path, warn, when necessary, but then, when is it not necessary? Do not be deceived by the false prophets, rebuke them when they are wrong, and guess what? They have all been wrong so far.
“For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Romans 16:18)
I will continue as I have been led, forsaking the world and the fear it is attempting to impose on me, and instead walk by faith. I pray you will do the same.
