A Made-Up Love

“Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?” (Psalm 139:21) Not exactly the generalized idea that many who call Christ Lord today have for those who hate God, they seem to think that when Jesus said, “A new commandment I give unto you,” (John 13:34) He meant, well, in today’s terminology, all of the born-again believers are just to supposed to live and let live, that everyone is oh so precious in the eyes of the Lord, that we are never even supposed to reprove or correct, never hate, never even be angry with those poor lost souls that use the name of our Savior as a curse word, after all, didn’t the pope just say that all are the children of God?

Those religious organizations that use Him as a cover for filthy lucre, (Titus 1:11) for the profit of self and all they can get from the world. Nope, God is doing a new thing, just love everybody all the time, never judge anyone.

Thanks guys, you folks that pushed this on us and any weak minded individual that would believe you, just brought the apostacy right to our front door, I’m guessing you really love those “participation trophies,” don’t you, all the handouts to all those poor souls who are slothful, too lazy to work, I’m guessing that you think all this free government money we’re all going to get is a good thing, forced to stay at home and get paid for it. Don’t worry yourself with all those freedoms we all have to give up, we’ll all be enabled soon enough and be protected, secure, and safe, all because you thought all we were supposed to do was just love everybody.

I am old enough to remember when all this crap, yes I said crap, started, when the hippies, which sadly I was one of, all thought that free love was the answer, and now the question is where did all that so-called love go to? I see a whole lot of protesting going on, I see uniformed men and women pushing back the masses of people who really don’t seem to be espousing much love, I see churches locking their doors, Christians afraid to go outside without a mask, but I am not seeing a lot of love. At least there is not many of those participation trophies being handed out these days, because you made it so they can’t even play sports anymore, might catch the new cold going around.

Love, this fake, feel good love, doesn’t seem to be able to stand very well in the face of adversity, does it, got to talk a little louder when you are six feet apart, hard to spread the gospel when only a handful of people are allowed in the churches that are open. The same man, David, who said those words at the beginning of this letter to you was the same one that prayed for his enemies, “But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.” (Psalm 35:13-14) His son, Solomon, gave them food and water, “If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink.” (Prov. 25:21)

They both knew that love was not some squishy, feely good thing inside, it is action, it is doing, not good intentions, it is being paid a fair wage for a fair days work, not handing out food and money to lazy people who serve no purpose but to drain and drag society down. “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” (1 Cor. 9:24) That person gets the trophy, not all the little darlings that hopped in the minivan and just showed up, this love does not feed those who do not work, (2 Thess. 3:10) this love of the Scriptures is never unequally yoked with unbelievers, the love of Christ is the love of God, Old and New Testament, because God does not change, His wrath, not His love, rests upon the wicked. (John 3:36) He hated Esau, He did not “love him less,” (Malachi 1:3) this Jesus that some of those people are serving does not exist, this person they have made-up is a simple-minded buffoon who lays on the ground after being beaten to a pulp and says “Thank you sir, may I have another.”

Thanks guys, good job, when they break down your door and burst into your house, just tell them you love them, see how that goes for you.
